Castaway Rod

I have a castaway deadly dudley rod that got broken. I know it cannot be repaired. I bought it from academy and remembered hearing somewhere, that they would replace it. I don't have the receipt anymore. Has anyone had to return a broken rod to academy? What is there policy on things like this? Any info is appreciated.

Academy will let you return any thing without a receipt if they sell it there. They will have no problem exchanging it.

Knotsane,
This is from their website: "If you have any questions or comments regarding our policy, please e-mail us anytime at academy@academy.com or call us toll-free at 1-888-922-2336 Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. CST". Further, call your nearest store and ask for the store director or the hunting/fishing manager.. You won't be disappointed..

Why play games with Academy. Go down there like E-man said buy another rod, return the other one that you broke and now have a receipt for. Get what you want and walk out with your head held high, like you got something for nothing. Feel proud of yourself and tell all of your friends how you made out. Or go down the street to Superior Bait and Tackle and select a Falcon rod that you can return whenever without a reciept reguardless of your own stupidity.

I've returned two broken castaway rods at academy in lafayette and they just swapped them out with no reciept and no questions asked. One of which was over a year old for sure.

You can bring it to Chag's in metairie or you can send it back to Castaway themselves for about $15.00 and they will send you a new one. you can find them online at www.castawayrods.com

Is to exchange it, no receipt, no questions asked, doesn't matter as long as they still carry that same exact rod in stock with the same PLU number. I have returned rods 2 years later that have broken for a brand new one. If they don't carry the same rod anymore, then you are out of luck.

This is why I only buy my rods at Academy now.
