Hey guys. We need to try to keep this post at the top of the page. If I lost my gun I hope that someone would do the same thing. The word will spread fast, I am sure.

Assuming there is a gun inside, have you checked the serial # for registration?

THAT IS MY NEXT STEP.JUST FOUND THEM THIS AFTERNOON.THERE WERE 2 GUNS IN THAT CASE

How does a gun case with two guns fly out the back of a truck...??? I have a double gun case, and when I put two in it, it feels like it weighs 50#...Good Luck finding the owner. they may figure that NO ONE would return if found.. Ya doing a good thing..

Definitely see if you can track it by serial numbers at a gun shop. You're doing a good thing, man. Glad to see that there are still some good folks out there.

lesson of the day kids: keep guns in the truck.....

It can happen. Years ago I left my old Browning bow on the hood of my truck after an afternoon hunt and didn't realize it was there till I saw it go sliding off first corner I went around.

Don't know where you're located, but you might give a few local gun shops a call and let them know what you found. Chances are whoever lost the guns is going to buy a couple more and just may mention to a salesman what happened to his old ones.

what area in La did you find them in?

My brother used to put his dirty camo clothes in a black garbage bag, come home from hunting and toss it in the house..UNTIL his mother in law put the bag out at the street for the garbage man. He was pissed...Few hundred bucks gone to the dump..

I am glad you are honest. Many would just keep what is inside and the case . My dad found a wallet on the street when i was a kid .
He looked inside and found the name--no drivers lic was there. He looked the old black man up and gave him his money and wallet back.
Dad taught me a life's lesson that day .

Do what is right no matter what no matter what it costs.

I can't believe that word has not got out about this one. Maybe "Louisiana Sportsman" could put an article in next months magazine. That might help get the word out to the public.

call the local newspaper and ask them if they could put something out.

You might want to check with local law enforcement. One good reason for the person that lost the guns to not come forward would be that they could be hot, or have been used in some type of crime. Protect yourself and inform the law of your find. If they are hot it does 2 things. It takes you out of the middle and gives them something to go on. the longer you wait, the less likely it is that they would be found.

Having said all of that, they probably are clean and as you thought just lost. Either way, I hope the rightful owner can be found and as others have said, thanks for doing the right thing.

just gonna bring it up one more time....thanks.....
