Hey folk's I need a little info on deer lease prices. Anyone have a lease through SOTERRA paper co., if so how much are you paying per ac. We have one in St Helena and this comming year it will be about 11.50 an ac.
We also took a pounding with the snow, we lost tons of trees and they have covered all our trails. Need some feedback. Thanks

I am hunting in St. Helena on private property and last year we paid $ 10.00 an acre, this year it went up to $ 15.00 an acre. We have a pretty nice set up, but I can't afford anymore than that, if it goes up again I'm in the market for antoher lease. Our woods took a beating from the snow as well, more trees down than for Katrina or Gustav.

We pay like $4.50 an acre at our club in Area 6 in Grosse Tete.

I think Roy O Martin's top price for their leases is $6.50, which includes insurance. Sounds a little steep to me, especially in St. Helena. I hunt there too but on family land.

I can't speak for any other area of the state, but I hunt in area 6. I can personally tell you that I know of multiple Roy O Martin leases going for over 20/acre. One particular piece of property went for 45.70/acre this year. I know this is true becouse I bid on the property myself and didn't get it. I bid over 40/acre. I know of another piece of property that is privately owned which leased for 37/acre this year. I don't know what the property you are interested in looks like, or what the deer population is like, but I WISH I could lease property for 11.50/acre.

Good Luck

Leases around Beaureguard, Calcasieu, Vernon, Allen and Jeff Davis parishes that are Roy O Martin range from $4/acre to $13/acre....not only ROM property but Temple and Boise lands lease for these price ranges as well, insurance included. All areas have good to great population numbers and several monsters killed each year in this area of the state. Not sure why anyone would EVER pay more than $20/ACRE for LEASE land...thats not very smart from a hunting or business standpoint. But to each there on. Good Luck with that...

you must be hunting a lot of stste land to get it for 4.50 an acre. Most of the land around Grosse Tete is in the $10 to $16 range.

Thanks for the correction guys. I was basing my comment on what I found on their website. Guess I am only looking at what they have left as I would assume the higher prices are for the better leases. I was actually considering getting one of the smaller leases (around 100 acres) since it is just myself and daughter who hunt.
