Well it has been a long drought this season in the Delacroix Island area. The ducks have been non-existent. Gustave & Ike seemed to wipe out all the duck food that would hold ducks in this area. You know when you shoot 3 ducks out of 6 possible shots, it is "Slim Pickins". As a matter of fact, we did not even see ducks running by boat. On Sunday, Jan 12, they finally made an appearance. They probably ran out of food everywhere else and were forced to spread out. The hunt was fast and furious. We bagged our limit in less than 30 minutes. Greys, teal & DosGris. It certainly put a smile on our face. Just wish that they had showed up before now. This hunt was certainly appreciated after making the zero-hunt with Cajun Waterfowl Adventures.
