Bizarre Hunting Help

Saturday my brother and I were enjoying an afternoon duck hunt and after finishing we began picking up our decoys. While retreiving them our boat begun to flip. We were able to save shotguns and bling bag, but one of us managed (or the dog) to knock my brothers pistol out of the boat and into approximately 5-6 feet of water. Has this ever happened to anyone before? and if so how were you able to retreive it? Any suggestions are appreciated.

use a big magnet tied to a rope. it may be hut or miss, but worth a shot if u marked the spot with a stick or cane

I would check with a place that rents equipment.....they usually will have a metal detector. Find out if it can be used under water.

Also check if you can rent a good magnet.

Otherwise....jump in and start feeling around. If the water is salty.....don't wait too long or it will rust.

why didnt yall just go overboard and get it??it wont rust until it comes out the water and gets in contact with the air...

As long as you know exactly where the boat flipped, you should be able to find it. Get a roofing magnet. That is the one that you roll around after the roofers leave mega nails everywhere. Tie a good rope on it and drag it on the bottom slowly. Hope that helps.

Try a magnet first. You should have luck if you know exactly where it went in. If not dive and if the water is murky feel around the bottom. It may take awhile but good chance you will find it. Ive done it before. You get used to the cold water after a few minutes
