duckman, I was looking for the same info. Someone mentioned there is a launch about 3/4 of a mile from the Hwy. 11 bridge. He said it was torn down by Katrina but you still can launch there. I didn't make to that one b/c of the wind. My wife and I launched at the Rigolets launch which is close and it is a nice launch. I travel from Baton Rouge also and I think it took just a little over an hour. I traveled down I-12 to Slidell. This was my first trip to that area so others might be of better help. Email me if you would like the directions to both of those launches.

take I-12 to slidell then get off at 433 exit take a right all the way till you hit hwy. 11(ponchatrain blvd.) and go left. follow all the way till you hit the brigde at the lake and there is a nice launch right at the foot of the bridge. tresels and hwy. 11 brigde side by side right there.

All Around,
I must be turned around this am. If I take 433 to 11 and go left, I'll be going north to Slidell? Or is the ramp from the other side of the road? The launch is at the lake or in a bayou?

Go to mapquest and if you scroll to the foot of the Hwy.11 bridge, their is a launch there on the right, just before you get onto the bridge. Also you could turn left at Lakeview Dr. just across from there and follow that road to The Dock. Their is a back down there also.

Ok, so it's in the canal between the hwy and the train tracks? Where do you have to get off the road to get to it? Is it right there where it is, or do I have to get off early. I don't want to miss it and have to cross the bridge to come back to it. Is there plenty of parking? Free public launch? I'm willing to pay, I just don't want to launch and not see a place to pay and drive off without paying. I know, it's a lot of questions.

Mike, there's no charge at Tite's ramp, that's the one on the right side at the foot of the Hwy.11 Bridge...The ramp at "The Dock" costs $5 and is about 1.7 miles east on Rat's Nest Road from Tite's. There is more parking available at The Dock but don't leave loose stuff in the back of your truck...This may be confusing, but let me know and I'll gladly help anyway I can...mel

Jig,
Thanks. It's not the fee I'm worried about. I just don't want to drive off without paying. We'll be there easter weekend camping at Fountainbleu. I want to fish the bridges and maybe the causway. I hear the bite is difficult to figure out on lake p. I fished it once for new years and only caught a couple of flounders. I want to catch some of those famous lake p big trout.

I assume you know that the closest launch from the Campground would be Mandeville....also there's one at Lacombe, if you want to fish that area. The launch at Tite's (Hwy.11) can get pretty conjested on nice weekends and with limited parking, it can be a pain..Good Luck and hope you get a few of these Lake P. "Bigguns"...mel

Yes, I know about the one at the foot of the Causway. I sort of cristened that one. Z knows what I mean. I just thought that the other offered 3 bridges to fish instead of only one, given that the "one" is very long.
