It is great, it has tons of storage in the front and back decks. it has a great trolling motor and a bilge pump and the motor cranks on the first turn everytime! im going fishing on saturday with it in the Red River and ima slay the bass. well i don't know if ya'll have been following all of my other posts for my 12 ft. bateau and 8 hp motor. well i have moved on and im keeping this boat for good. its gunna be perfect.

nice and congrats. whats the other boat on the side of it? your old one? just wondering

I remember the new boat feeling. I went from a bass boat to a 20ft tunnell hull bay boat and I still look at that boat everyday home from work and say ( I cant wait to hook up). Its kinda like having a girlfriend while being married. The thing about my girlfriend is my wife claims her as her own (her boat) so that means I have a wife and a girfriend huh......threesome........ooh gosh now I am thinking of my wife and my boat in a sexual manner. What a sick twisted world we live in.

It doesn't matter what you ride in so long as you enjoy the great outdoors that the good Lord gave us all!!! I hope that you your trips be plentiful and your harvests be grand!!!

nice boat man! you planning on doing anything to it? that thing looks like it cruises!!!

well i want to make one of the storage things in the front a live well, but im not too sure how to do it. does anyone know how much it would cost to get this done? and what do you call the thing where when your flip the switch it gets water from the lake and puts it in the livewell?

it shouldnt cost alot if you get all the fittings yourself and figure out how to rig it up. im planning on puttin a live well in my boat sometime soon, limited space though. i think cabelas has a kit with the fittings and a 35$ pump. i think youre gonna want a live well pump. you gotta make sure that the part that you wanna convert is water tight, if it aint, my buddy used silicone around the bottom, and sides and around the fittings. i just take a big ole ice chest and fill it with water and that keeps em goin for a while. think of the way you want to run it, and then think of how youre gonna put in. take a picture of the storage area and send it to me.

Man, I thought I was bad. I bought my first boat when I was 17 and just bought a new one in November. I kept my first one for a couple years though. But do it while you can. I got lucky and was able to buy my new one only 6 months after I got married. But I was denied when I tried to keep my other one like you did. Hope you have a good time in it and if you have a woman yet, bring her with you on nice sunny days. I live in Baton Rouge. I fish Old River, False River and Chicot a lot. If you ever need some directions, advice, or even someone to go, let me know.

You better be careful with that much of a Horsepower gain!!Going from 8 hp to 50hp is going to fly!

hey lsufan. thanks a lot man and yes i do have a woman. haha ima try to bring her out on False river this summer. I just recently moved to Baton Rouge and honestly do not know anything about fishing the areas around here. would you wanna maybe show me around some place near Baton Rouge. where are some good places to go. my favorite fishing is sac-a-lait and bream, but i also love to bass fish. well my boat is definately plenty big enough to fish two people out of it. it may not look too big in the pictures, but once you see it in person, it looks a hell of a lot bigger. and iron man when are we gunna head out to Pierre Part dude? im still waitin! haha

Those are my two favorite. I fish Old River A LOT. I've been fishing False River the most this year since I have a boat that is a lot more bass fishing friendly than that little bateau I had. I also fish Chicot State Park a few times a year. In fact, I'm about to leave with my wife in about 30 minutes for a day trip. I'll send you and email soon and maybe we can meet up somewhere one weekend. I see you fish south of Baton Rouge a lot. I would like to learn my way around a few places down there and I can show you how to fill up an ice chest full of those huge Old River bream when the river goes down.

sounds good man. good luck in Chicot today. how far away is old river from Baton Rouge? man there aint nothin better than filling up the ice chest with some huge bream and even a few bass mixed in with that. ahah well im about to go fishing in my little small boat with a trolling motor in one of the Red River oxbows. im gunna see if the spawn has started yet in the river, if it has then i should have some fun! well good luck and let me know how you do. and iron man, that sounds good. o and for all you other people saying it is going to be a big change from a 8 hp to a 50, i had a 25 on the back of my boat for a little while and it proly went faster than my new boat! im not sure cuz i haven't even gotten a chance to run my new one yet! where is a place near BR that i could try out my new boat?
Reply
i did this with a ice chest should work with a concealed metal box. if it has no holes.

wally world has a pump that hooks to ur battery you throw the pump in the water let it fill your box up. put pump in your box (along with hose) and it sits there and airates it.

Went this morning. Didn't get to fish as much as I wanted to (I had my wife with me and she's not a southern girl). We rode bikes for a little while, and went hiking down a few trails, ate lunch at one of the campsites (and saw 2 deer run through the woods b/w camping areas) and only fished for about 2 hours. I caught about 5 bream, 1 keeper (but threw it back) and had a lot of bites. The bream aren't in the shallow water yet. I caught them all in about 5-7 ft of water about 4 ft under a cork on crickets. I didn't try bass much at all. The closest place I know of is False River. But it depends where you live in Baton Rouge. I live in northern Baton Rogue and it is only a 35 minute ride for me. There is a free public launch in the middle of New Roads.

Old River is near Morganza. It is about a 1 hour 15 minute ride from my house.

your highschool has a fishing team? mine does. only im not in highschool yet. lol. our club will start next year.

nope we don't! im tryin to get one started. but it might be hard because there really aren't that many places to fish around Baton Rouge. and thanks lsufan. i went fishing in my grandmas pond today and caught some nice bass and bream. no sacs which is surprising, we usually load up on them this time of year in there. and i have heard some good reports about chicot in the summer but not this time of year. i can't wait to head out to Old River! and load up on some bull bream! and iron man that sounds good just let me know. and thanks huntin fool. do you know if that "live well" would meet all of the tournament regulations for most tournaments? im wantin to eventually fish in some tournaments with my boat but you need a live well to fish them. which sucks! why cant we just keep the friggin things!
Reply
idk i havent ever heard of any regs...

It might be a while before Old River turns on. We didn't start catching fish there until June last year. But they're not expecting the Mississippi to flood as bad as it did last year so I think it might turn on in May. I'm about to post my report from yesterday. Check out the pictures I'm putting on there. Anyone with a small aluminum boat would love this place.

ya, your other boat, was a bit small? you will enjoy this one a lot more!! you can go a lot more places than the other one you had, and be a lot safer!! someone said something about a live well? you don't need that, unless you plan to fish tournaments, forget about it, don't need it, just an ice chest, with a little ice, cause you gonna eat them suckers anyway, that's what i do! i use my live well for storage! just be safe and obey the rules, you won't regret it!! good luck, hope you catch more fish than me? nice boat, just maintain it, like you should! just an opinion, flush the engine, not only in salt water, but in fresh water too, will keep the cooling system cleaner, get the mud out!! you will have a lot less troubles later! you might want to ask the guy, you bought it from, when is the last time he changed the water pump? oh, by the way, you might want to pull the wheels and check your bearings, before you take off? the most neglected thing is bearings! even if they have buddy bearings, in my opinion, the inside bearings, don't get any grease? the worst thing about any kind of trailer, is burning a bearing on the road, what a terrible thing!!! do it at your house and not the side of the highway, a lot easier!! spend a little money now, or a lot more later and a lot more trouble!!

hey guys i made it out to Bayou Manchac today to run my new boat. me and my friend JJ tried to do a little fishing, but the water was flowing way too fast and was way tooo high from all the recent rains. we didn't catch anything, but we got to try out the new boat. it hauls butt!!!! guys its perfect for me. the only problem is that the plug leaks a little bit, but the bilge pump fixed that problem. haha. well over all its a great boat and i can't wait to do some serious fishing in it. im goin fishing in the Red River this weekend with my friend Levi up in Alexandria. has anyone been catching anything up there lately? any tips on bass or sac-a-lait or even bream? any tips help. thanks and hey iron man do you think i could enter any of those friendly tournaments you and your friends have in Pierre Part? ill put in all the money i need to enter them and everything.

hey man, i'm going up to Alex to fish the same areas. My buddy went to the St. Maurice area in Marksville this past weekend and had some decent luck.I usually put in behind the buhlow airport or on the other side of the river by the hospital. Where do you usually fish.
Reply
we launch at the Boyce landing. it is about 20 minutes up river near Colfax. it is a lot better fishing than by the hospital. there are more oxbows and stuff like that to fish. the river is still kinda high right now so you will need to be fishing the backs of oxbows for bass and stuff like that. the landing itself is in a really good oxbow for fishing, but up near the lock the fishing is usually really good for some of those schooling rock bass i think is what you call them. just use some crank baits and stuff. im not too sure if the bass will be spawning right now in the river. what baits do you use for bass that are sitting on their beds and how many fish and what kinds of fish did your friend catch? me and my friend will be fishing out of my boat all day on Saturday, when are you going? maybe we could meet up. o and also have you ever had any luck fishing for sac-a-lait on the river? me and my friend never have.

there is no money for one these friendly little tournaments. you might could join. i dont know though. we sleep the weekend on a small a$$ house boat with a mouse problem. we goin this friday and saturday, me and another guy from school who i fished against and lost to. ima win this time.

I will be fishing saturday morning also. Still trying to get in touch with my buddies and find out where is the best attack point. Maybe I can follow yall out to colfax, never launched up that way. I'm from the Alex. area but moved to Ruston for school and haven't been back too much to fish. Only get to hit up the River and Saline every now and then when I go home for Holidays. I like to fish the river this time of year, right after the bass spawn in most areas I can usually go to the river and fish on the points with a crankbait. My buddy launched near Marksville. He mentioned he fished the st. maurice area. Not to sure exactly where, never been there myself. I can find out more if you would like. They did catch a few in a short amount of time.
