DOES ANYONE OUT THERE FISH JUGLINES FOR CATFISH? I'M LOOKING FOR ANY HOW TO INFO TO BUILD MY OWN. I'VE SEEN SOME PEOPLE USE COKE BOTTLES OR PVC AND NOODLES. LOOKING FOR INPUT AND DIRECTIONS ON HOW TO BUILD THESE. MY FREEZER IS EMPTY AND I NEED TO FILL IT WITH SOME GREAT EATING CATS. ANY INFO WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Use a crab trap buoy. Get a wooden dowell rod and stick it through the middle of the buoy.Drill hole in one end and tie string through it. Put two hooks aprox. 3' apart on a leader(1 foot) attatched to the main line with a swivle. Then put a weight about 2' below the last hook on the end of your line. When you take them up wrap the line around the buoy criss crossing around the enda of the buoy's rod. You can just hook the hooks into the foam of the buoy.

There are many ways u can do it . The one i like is u take the floating noodles that u buy at walmart for in the pool.Cut them about 12 inches long take some sort of crabing string or wat ever kind of line you wish to use and run it through the noodle. Then tape the ends of the noodles with duck tape.Make ur string anywhere from 2 foot to 20 what ever u wish, then tie your hooks i usualy put two hooks on about 6 inchs from the bottom then put another hook a few feet above it with ya weight all the way at the bottm. thats juss my two scents.

We have always used the quart oil jugs. They work really well, stack easily, and are free at any oil change center. I suggest the lighter colored ones as they are easier to see. Just attach your line in the gap directly below the screw top and get to fishing. Do not forget a swivel as them big boys will twist off without one. I have not ever installed a weight. We attach a 2' piece of tarred twine, a swivel, an additional 2-3' piece of tarred line, then your hook. Bait will a hardy bait and chunk them out as you motor down a canal. Simple enough! Try really hard to P/U all your jugs as nobody likes a litter bug. Have fun and good luck!!

use string with a good leader spray the bottom of the bottle a bright color so there easy to find. put some chicken livers on the hook and toss em out. ull know if u have something on the hook the jug will stand straight up.

i like 1 liter water bottles, perfect size but dont get the cheap ones because they are too thin. aquafina works the best. nylon about 3 foot from jug then about 4/0 hook, if its a little windy use a weight like a big split shot or clip on

Where are you running them . That will make a big difference in the design. I use a swimming noodle also, about 12 inches long. Then i slide a piece of 1/2 inch pvc cut 18 to 20 inches through the center hole.then drill a holeon each end big enough to pass crab string through. On one side tie a piece 18 inces long and attach a swivel with a quick snap and put the hook. on the other tie string that is 4 to 5 feet longer than the depth of the water you are running them. depending on current tie the appropriate weight. It also helps to use all one color noodle to identify yours. With that said if you are going to run juggs, be respectful of other peoples juggs. Try not to run yours on top of theirs and NEVER take anyone elses fish.it is a bad feeling to pull up to your jugg and it has been cut or tampered with, or even worse stolen. Also, 6 to 10 hours is plenty of time to leave them sit.Enjoy and hope this helps.
