18.5 lbs 10.5" beard right spur 1" left 1 1/8" my first bird. I always heard once you get one you hooked.I believe it cuz i think i am already. last year was my first year had one gobble waited waited nothing. This year i was alittle more confident. I went to my hunting club here in evangeline parish open weekend hoping to get one. I had scouted the week before and seen one good size bird cross a four wheeler trail in front of me. Didn't find any sign but heard there were birds in the area and being it was the first year this area was open i thought i could have red azzed but not a lick maybe later this month. its open until the 26th so maybe go back. So decided to go to the camp at the river this weekend. i was was suppose to head out there sat morning but couldn't take it left friday night. Got up sat moring headed to a area i hunted last yr but nothing but trucks. I know its a reserve. So i said the hell with it went to a spot where i scouted before cuz there wasn;'t any trucks and didn"t feel like having to put up with others messing me up or whatever yal know what i mean. So i get to the spot its alittle after daylight. I hit the call there he went gone off about 100yrds. i hit the ground and waited he gobbled a few more times and that was it nothing for about a hour. waited and waited then finally he messed up and showed himself at about 30yrds in front of me and that was azz booomm no more good.. im still pumped up my fisrt bird and he's a nice one...
