Try the BREC conservation area at the corner of Hooper and Blackwater in Central. I've seen a lot of people fishing there lately but have never tried it myself. Make sure you have your license on you. Game wardens check that place consistently. It's free. Also try the dept. of wildlife and fisheries ponds at their site on N. Flannery south of Central. I've been there before and caught a few catfish and bream. All you have to do is sign-in. Hope this helps.

Waddell Mgmt Area
Waddall Wildlife Rec Area is off Flannery and Greenwell Springs. They have 3-ponds. It is catch /release for the bream and bass. One pond has catfish and you can keep 3. This is run by La Wildlife and Fisheries. No Charges but MUST have fishing license. Open 8-5 tues thru Sat. Closed Sun and Mon.

They also have an archery range.

It's real nice- the grass is cut. No Riff raff there or foolishness allowed. A warden will run them off.

Definitivly bring him to the pond at Wildlife Rec Area.

I was just out at the Black Water Conservation site recently and I think it stays over fished. I couldn't get anything to hit a live cricket except one small little bream. The grass and shrubbery are over grown and the main pond is full of scummy grass that you have to clean off after ever cast.
