Dilemna- fishing line has run out

Reply
I have been using a big spool of big game Supreme. I have run out. Trilene doesn,t make it anymore. What is the best alternative I can use? (besides regular Big Game) My Supreme could hook on an oyster and pull the oyster out. I used 14lbs test. Any monofilament that you'll use has those characteristics?

I USE CAJUN RED LINE BY SHAKESPEAR AND I SWEAR BY IT. I HAVE PULLED CRAB TRAPS UP THAT WERE SUCK ON THE BOTTOM. I USE 20 # TEST AND IT CAST GREAT. CAUGHT A 40 # RED ON THE STUFF. JUST BE CAREFUL, IF YOU GET HUNG UP IT IS VERY HARD TO BREAK!

I have gone back to mono because of Stren, clear blue 14lb low memory fishing line.

Great fishing line.

How good are copolymer lines such as Gamma (sold at Academy) or P-line CX Premium?

I use cajun red 12 or 14 lb line. It is very strong and virtually invisable in the water.

There are two different cajun red lines. One is mono, which is total junk, the other is a co-polymer which I have not tried. I am sure it is better than their mono, but since it has been my experience that shakespeare lines are junk, I have not tried it. Suffix makes a co-polymer line called Tritanium Plus. P-Line CX Premium is a co-polymer coated with florocarbon. Both of these lines are great and I use to be a Trilene Big Game fan as well, but I have not looked back since I have switched to the co-polymers several years ago. I find the braids are a pain to deal with constantly and only use them in certain situations.

I used some 12 lb gamma (copolymer) and 20 lb p-line cx (copolymer) on my last fishing trip. They both cast real good over the old stuff. But, I found the line would cut much easier when I got hooked on an oyster. I will give the lines some more time before the verdict is out. Is p-line cxx extra strong anygood?
