I was washing my 350 honda rancher off and found the inner boot was cracked. do I clean the joint out, re-boot the joint, and wait for time to take its toll , or should I replace the entire cv shaft. thanks
Just change the boot. Make sure the boot is full of grease before you seal it off. It might be a challenge if you are not mechanically inclined. Don't wait because you will have to change the cv shaft then. While the shaft is down being repaired go ahead and change the tie rod ends while you are at it.
hey man just changed my boot on my 300 in feb. real easy fix. all you have to change is the boot. you can get a new boot with clamps from honda for about 30 bucks.when you get the new boot turn it inside out and roll it over the joint big hole first. this makes it easier to get the little hole end over the joint then it comes out right side up also. pack with grease first clamp it and you are done. let me know how it turns out!!!!
