Any Ducks in Clearwater, LA????

Reply
I have a chance on a lease in Clearwater, LA which is two miles off of I-49 and borders Bayou Cocodrie. This is pretty much across the interstate from Cheneyville. The lease consists of a big cypress swamp. Can anyone tell me if there are any ducks in this area?

This past deer season, I drove I49 many times from August - January. Although I don't know Clearwater specifically, I can tell you that I saw many ducks resting and feeding on the ponds on the east side of I49 just south of Alexandria. I could see lots of ducks on both the crawfish ponds and on the larger borrow pits. One day I saw literally thousands sitting on the big ponds. It may have potential if it is in that area.

Most all of the ducks you see rafted up along I-49 are Spoonbills, especially the ones in the borrow pits. The ones in the rice-fields are a bit more of a mix, but still a lot of Spoonbills.
