Nobody is perfect

I have not had a great experience with them. I have Riptide ST 101/CP/AP purchased in 2008 that last year would not turn left/right. I took it to Front to back last year and they fixed it. This year, after being out 2 times, it started doing the same thing. When you take the remote and go left-right-left-right-etc, the motor tries to turn and after awhile, it will start to loosen up and start to move but that takes 10-15 min of going back and forth. I took it back and without them taking the unit apart, they claimed they knew what the problem was. They ordered a new transmission for it and when it came in, they found they were wrong and had to order more parts. They have had my trolling motor for almost 2 months now. Still waiting on more parts. Had they diagnosed the problem correctly the first time, I believe I could have had it back faster. I have lost faith in Minn Kota and am not totally satisfied with Front to Back. I appreciate them still trying to fix the motor but have been without it for most of the year. I hope when I get it this time, it works. They are currently waiting on a part for the Autopilot (however, the autopilot never had a problem, wonder if they damaged that working on the motor). I will be happy when it's fixed. I don't mean to be negative, but I am just reporting what my experience has been. It's frustrating to buy a nice trolling motor and be without out it for the year. Maybe it will be fixed by winter when my boat stays in the driveway.
