Lake of Houma

hey guys does anyone have any info for the Lake of Houmas hunting club? like a number i could reach them at? or the location of the club? thanks and god bless

I don't have the number, but it is located at the intersection of Hwy 182 (formerly hwy 90) and Hollywood Rd in Houma. When I was a teen (11-14), we used to tow our pirogues behind my flat boat down the St Louis Canal to the sewage treatment plant, about a 2 mile run from my house. Then, we would drag the pirogues across into Lake Houmas and shoot Poul Deaux. We got run out a few times, LOL. Usually there was no one there during the week, and we would go when we didn't have school.

NOTE: I am NOT advocating trespassing, just sayin' that we did this, LOL.

Back on topic, I'm not sure who runs that club anymore, but I think it was a pretty exclusive group of doctors and/or lawyers. Being that it's easy to get to, I would bet it's top $$$$ to get in, if membership is even open.

Don't have the number no more but it's like $500 a blind and there really hasn't been too much ducks in there the past few years from what I hear

Look I was a member for about 3 years and the hunting is not all that great. The only time that the hunting was good in there was opening days of both teal and big duck. The only ducks that I ever killed in there were teal, some grays, and wood ducks. The coots used to be really good in there, but the pressure drove them out.
The original dues were only $500 which was not that bad considering there were only about 25 members. It stayed like that for about 2 years. Then the price went to $600 and members were added. I got out in 2007 when the price went to $800 and the membership went to 36 members. That lake is not big enough for that many members.
On top of that, you can only hunt on Wednesday, Sat., and Sunday. Certain holidays you can hunt the whole week.

hey guys thanks for the input. i just got off the phone with the guy from the dularge hunting club and he said that i was probably going to be able to get in. i was maybe thinking about getting into both but since there aren't that many ducks then i think ill just stick with the dHc. has anyone ever been in the dularge hunting club? how is the hunting? i was down there on sunday and i saw a ton of ducks all over but only a few flocks of teal. i am still going to try for teal season but i think big duck season is going to be a blast!

Flies did he let you know the meeting is? I'm still waiting on a call from him about the meeting? I've hunted dularge before with my buddy on his lease around eagle lake and they've got tons of ducks! After the this past season I was riding around on his lease and the mallards were everywhere on his lease!
