underwater obstruction

Had 2 buddies down from pennsylvania for thurs-sun. Did very well despite the weather. The wiers produced 40-50 large reds, we kept only 13 eaters.Did fish up north 210 area and the fish I had found had other ideas. Went out this afternoon and with two boats did very well 25 trout, 3 flounder, and 1 red. We released 10-15 big reds to fight another day. Anyway FYI there is a big piece of steel " I " beam sticking out of the water at the north end of west cove as it dumps into hog island gully, I tied a float to it but at very high tide this could be extremely dangerous. This was left by one of two shrimp barges that were recently moved.

Just to clarify....

Is this I-beam actually in Hog Island Gully where a boat could hit it? How far from the bank? A little East or West??

Or....

Is the I-beam actually out in West Cove where that cut is located?

Thanks from all fishermen for marking this danger.

That area is CLOSED to the public. Does anyone know why????

Someone should find out who ownes the shrimp barges and he should be made to take care of the problem he created!!
It's bad enough to worry about hurricane debris, but intentional obstructions are rediculous. At the very least, the owner should have marked it to make it visable to others.

It is in the cut that joins west cove to hog island, on the south side about 15-20 yds from the grass
