Pics of our Vermilion Bay friends

Here is an example of the bird chasers in Vermilion Bay. I was drifting when the birds decided to start working off my Port side. Notice my fishing pole in the first pic. These guys were close.

Jeremy, these are probably the same guys that crowded you also. If you look at the second pic you can see your boat about 300 yards out.

spread popcorn over the water a couple of miles before you get to your honey hole. that will attract the birds and the birdwatchers and then you can fish in peace.

cornflakes and Pringles potato crisps work as well.

Thats the guys.. and yep thats us WAYY in the top left hand of the picture. Thats the first time we tried there. The second time (when they crowded us) I was even further lol But thats how you can tell your fisherman from your "fishwatchers" or potlickers as they have been called in the past lol

What ya'll ended up with. I think we had 29 specs and 5 pretty big whites. Caught two specs in one cast on my topdog and thats when everyone surrounded us before i could even get them off the hook lol

at least they appear to be using a trolling motor. It really gets me when they come up with the main motor running. Unfortunately there isn't much you can do about it either way!

We ended the morning at 10:00 with 10 specks and also kept 8 white trout. The best part was I caught a nice 2 1/2 pound speck about 10 yards behind the express in the picture. We were catching consistantly just drifting and I don't know if I saw them land a single fish.

Go check out Tarpon fishing in Boca Grande. The boats bounce off each other chasing and fishing the tarpon. They are litterally pushing the other boats off their gunnels by hand thats how close they get. But its no problem out there when the tarpon bunch up in Charlotte pass thats where all the boats go. Well In Louisiana when the trout bunch up chasing bait as indicated by the birds then thats where the boats go.LOL! You gotta fish where the fish are right. LOL!

I actually wasn't trying to get on top of them at all. We had caught some fish out there friday and saw the boats so figured they were there again.

Those guys in the fishmaster have crowded me several times.. They also do the olympic anchor toss....

haha seen that quite a few times that day also! I get a kick out that. I hate whenever my chain makes too much noise when putting it in! I try to put it in without any chain hitting the side of the boat.. the less noise the better. People don't seem to understand that. They think the further they throw the anchor the better it will stick even if there is only a 5mph wind whenever you could just let your anchor touch the bottom and you won't go anywhere lol
