In the 2009-10 Hunting Regulations I don't find any restrictions on the amount of rounds for anything but the shotgun and it is limited to 3 rounds.
But anybody that needs more than a few rounds needs to go do more practice shooting or seek some proffesional help... :-)
I have seen and heard some hunters with banana or large clips unload (7 to 30 rounds) at large game (deer and hogs) usually because they were walking or stalking and JUMPED their quarry, then tryed to shoot it on the run.
This is as we all know VERY STUPID and DANGERIOUS to ALL in the woods, because the trigger finger IS NOT IN SYNC. with their BRAIN, so those shots are mostly discharged wildly and without reguard of things or people in the area!
So in answer to your question; I don't think anybody would say something to you about a 30 round clip if you loaded it with only 4 and have 1 in the chamber.
But if your(and I don't know that you are) one of those with blast fever, just go to the RANGE and BLAST to yours hearts desire and leave the woods to Hunters that can truly respect and enjoy the pursuit of a living animal and then make that all important ETHICAL and Humane Kill of (his or her) quarry.
