Best All-Round 4 Wheeler?

Reply
All right guys, I'm thinking of getting a 4 wheeler. I've only owned 3 wheelers back in the 80's so I'm looking for some things to keep in mind while I search for a good one that won't break the bank!

Can ya'll help me?

THANKS...

i have the foreman 450, that thing is a tank, it is the same model as the foreman 500 but it has 450cc instead of 500cc, i just like it cuz of the sqaure, bulky look instead of the sleek newer hondas, get a honda for sure

1996 Honda trx 300 4x4. Best fourwheeler ever made.

I have '07 Honda Foreman 500 4WD, manual shift, love it.

Of note, the Foreman's are like 479cc ("500" class) or so and the Foreman-Rubicons are 499cc w/ the auto tranny. I'd recommend manual shift though, no buttons or anything.

A buddy has a very old Yamaha some-sort-of-animal like a wolf this or bear that (like all the yamaha bikes) but it's been quite a champ for him, hell and back and still runs great. Never owned one myself but when it was time to buy still went Honda.

I own a 1999 honda four trax. The bike was bought new and had only a few minor repairs over the years.

Note: Bike has been threw hell and still going strong.

Well I see a lot of Honda post, but what about repairs and Let Me Downs or are they built that strong that its not a problem?

I know the 3 wheelers where very reliable and my 250SX had shaft drive and reverse.

Any thing I should look for when looking at a used 4 wheeler that might spell trouble down the road?

Again thanks for your help!

I bought my '07 Honda Rancher 4x4 420 new in October of '08. I have electric shift and fuel injection/liquid cooled. Love it! Couldn't be happier. I wouldn't buy anything else but a Honda.

The folks at Brookhaven Honda gave me a great deal too.

but a honda, but if your gonna get a used one, stay away from anything snorkled, more than likely been through more crap than you would want to deal with

a honda is the way to go. i had a 300 fourtrax, a 1998 250 reacon. and two 350 honda ranchers and got my moneys worth out of all of them. try to stay away from big mud tires and snorkels. HONDA!

I have an 02 arctic cat 300 4 x 4 with 3400 miles on it. I would have to say that is a lot of miles in the woods. Its been used for hunting and work around the camp only, no joy riding. With 15 gears is almost unstoppable. Buy one good one and you don't have to buy a new one very often.
