Go devil Carb problems

Reply
I wanted to know if anyone could help me with cleaning my carburetor out. I think I remember some type of bucket you can use and it has a little basket that you drop the carburetor down in the liquid and let it soak and it will break down the old gas and build up. If anyone knows what I am talking about I would appreciate it if you could point me in the right direction. Any other pointers on cleaning up a carburetor on a Briggs motor would be appreciated. Thanks

chances are if you having trouble, its not the carb on that motor, its the pump! Go devil are renowned for the fuel pumps going bad (lil black box jus on the top/side of motor) U really gotta have an old motor, or have tried to burn syrup in it to gum that carb up....

I just had a similar problem. Motor would scream without a load and bog down under load.I cleaned the carb thinking that I had bad gas/ethonol issues. It ended up being a bad fuel pump. Easy and cheap fix. These motors are notorious for loosing fuel pumps

Where can you get a new fuel pump from around ST James Parish

Any small engine shop or auto parts store should carry these pumps. They are common.

my go devil has the same problem as yours. I have tried everything thinking it was bad gas. I will change the fuel pump. It's nice to read a thread and get help when youre not looking for it!

Thanks for all of the help. Probably going to go ahead and clean the carburetor just to be safe but will replace the pump as well. Thanks again for all the info
