I feel like a kid again-take gun out and keep shouldering, blow on the duck call throughout day, checking bag, shells, boots-not sleeping-man that is what it is all about. Went out to check things today and low flying geese buzzed-come on Sat. Good luck to all and be safe.

By the region you posted that you hunt (lake p. ) you do know its East zone and youth only right? Just checking because of some yahoos on here.

It is the youth weekend for the original poster...( northshore/ lake pontchy).. Thats east zone. I'm sure its probably just a mistake and you planned on hunting somewhere in the west zone. Just a heads up.

I might have to take some antihistamine tonight, I just can't sleep. I have been more regular than Jimmy Swaggart's date as well.....Can't get here soon enough.

Duck Enticer, I love comment about the antihistamine to help go to sleep! I've done it many times - don't know what it is, but the anticipation always gets me the night before opening day. This will make my 22nd year straight. I will not miss it, even though my optomisim isn't as strong as it was in the early 2000's. Good Luck everybody, and be careful.

I am ready to shoot a quick limit of ducks, then fight the swarms of gnats while I pick up the dekes, then jump in the bay boat and hit the water to chase some big trout. Fishing forecast looks great, duck forecast (wind) don't look too hot, but we will get em' on opening day I hope.

Coot,

I plan on doing the same thing this weekend as well bringing the bay boat, mud boat, fishing poles, therma cell and all!!

Good Luck Opening Weekend
