Killed this bad boy Sunday morning November 8. What would yall think he would score and is there anywhere around Lafayette that I could get him scored. Would also like to know any good quality taxidermist around the same area.

Anyone know a good taxidermist?

That deer will probably be in the 160's...If he is a main frame 10, is he?

on his main beam on the right side all he has is a 1" or so point not like the other side which has a fork off of his main beam. You can see what i am talking about in the middle pic, if that doesnt make a differnce then yes he is a main frame ten

150" Great Deer. I hunt just north of there, was he chasing when you killed him?

I have used Pete Jorden for several mounts and you will be satisified. Does some of the best work I've seen. Great buck

The best around is a guy in Crowley names Ben Mitchell. He runs Bayou Woods and Waters. The number is 3377882928. I'm not sure what he charges, but I promise it's worth it.

i get all my deer and fish done at marshland taxidermy in lake charles. he's one of the best i've seen. plus he usually gets them back to ya in about 3-4 months so you don't have to wait a year just to get him on the wall.

Dude, that is a freak! I'd bet my paycheck he's deep in the 150's and more likely low 160's. Let us know. Good job!

*I'm guessing this one will go 130-135 tops. If you want to see green 160s scroll down a few notches and look at what MJB killed in Illinois. Then come back up and look at this deer. See the difference? Regardless its a very nice deer.

*This is an educational post and is not intended to demean, demoralize, flame or start crap.

David's Taxidermy in Lafayette did a great job on my last buck. His detail is incredible. He is located on Pon Des Mouton Rd, right across Moss St. 337-269-9635. Go by his place and take a look at all of the mounts. I think you will be impressed.

on Verot school road. A little pricey but he does a great job.

It is a little more expensive, but you get what you pay for. Congrats on the deer. You can't put a price on that deer

That deer goes 130-140. he got about 7-8 inches of deductions cause of that g4 on the left. Looks to be 18" wide with about 5 1/2 in. bases. without deductions i would say 140-150. DURN FINE DEER THOUGH!!ANYWHERE IN THE COUNTRY!!!

I want to thank all who posted and all the input that i have received. I even had the privilage of having my wife kill her first deer(120 lb doe). And to whoever asked if he was trailing a doe i didnt see any doe before him but his nose stayed on the ground so i know he was trailing something. There was a spike killed at our lease the day i left to come back home and he was trailing a doe, so the rut is definately starting, if not in progress. well going back offshore monday for 2 weeks but i will be back at the camp and in the wood the first week of december. Thanks again all, keep the input coming and good hunting.
p.s. his spread was 16"

that is an awesome deer i can score it for you how close to lafayette are you. And by the way you dont want to take that deer to Davids i assure you. Unless you want to take a chance on what you'll get believe me i am speaking from experience. As someone who knows how to score deer i'll tell you that should be close to 145 if not 150 of course i'm going off of a picture.

thanks MJB, appreciate the input that would sound good if you could score it for me. I live in Kaplan so from Lafayette a hop and a jump and i am there, but I leave to go offshore tonight and wont be back for 2 weeks, but maybe when i get in if you have time.
Thanks

Awesome buck. The spread of a buck counts for only a small portion of the score. The tine length is 44% of the score .Your buck has great tine length except for the brow tines. He is gonna score in the mid 140's.He is a fine buck to be proud of,congrats.
