The name of our famous cane is actually spelled "Roseau". Either way, it is heard and understood easily by the dog. I named a friend of mines dog that 10 years ago. She became a good Field Trial dog and the sweetest animal I've ever been around! ROSEAU or ROZZEAU

She's so black, I can't help but think of the Ace Of Spades. Trying to incorporate the "Ace" or Spade" theme, I'd consider "Spaden" or "Royal" for the Royal Flush--in spades of course, or "Trip" for trip aces...or "Acey" might fit well for a girl

Maybe I've just been playing too much poker...

Several years ago a dog trainer told me and my folks that dogs respond best to names that start with a hard "k" sound. Now I have no scientific evidence to support his claim, but we have stayed with the theory over the years. Sometime it has been tough to come up with a good one. It took awhile to come up with Kiley for my 3 year old chocolate female.
Since your pup is indeed coal black I like the other suggestions of Coal. Of course just to be different I would write it in any papers as Koal. Good luck with her.
