Mike's office is off of Arnoult in Metairie. It's either probably underwater or destroyed. I have placed a couple of calls to see if Mike and Helmut are O.K. Maybe Susan Gros can get in touch with them.

Louisiana Sportsman is his competition. I doubt he would post here under any circumstances. In the past, posts on his website were DELETED if they referred to Louisiana Sportsman. I wish him well and can't wait to see how that website handles this tragedy, because it will be well-done, but these are the facts.

For starters, Mike, when you see this, can we now talk about the loss of wetlands, which act as buffers against the storm surge and also are the reason we have such great fishing? Those posts were also deleted deleted from rodnreel.com

Just got off the phone with Helmut Ermlich who is currently in Alaska. Mike Lane is in New Jersey with his wife Alison's family. All are OK and just watching in disbeleif as the reports come in from across the region.

The rodnreel.com office on N. Arnoult took a pretty good hit to the roof and water damage has occurred. The staff is working to try and get back on line as soon as they have access to their office in Jefferson Parish.

Helmut asked me to pass on to everyone affected by Katrina that his thoughts are with you all.
