The Deer Depot (Pete Giovenco) in St. Rose makes deer tamales. Very good!
If you want to try making them your self, you need venison ground meat and a Cajun Land tamale kit. Each kit makes three dozen. I've done this several times and they are very good. If you are going to do it, it is very easy, but a little time consuming. Plan to make many dozen at one time as they freeze well.
