Well I need some opinions on a good semi-auto .22 for a decent price. (under $300) Mainly using for those tree rats. Any info on any rifle, ammunition, and a decent scope for it. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks and God Bless!

thunderbolt
shoot thunder bolt bullets. DO NOT shoot led tips! i dont use hollow points, just thunderbolts. and they work for me. they come in the green and gray box. ALSO, i bought a red head scope at bass pro for a little over 100 dollars and its great. and the banana clips will jam pretty often so keep a the 10rnd clip if you get the ruger!

and!
and if you go to get thunderbolt bullets and there out, dont let them tell you the lightning bolts are the same thing. lightning bolts are a hollow point!

hmm...
Hard to beat the ol 10/22, but the remington 597 isnt far behind. Either one will serve you very well and you won't have to mortgage your house to pay for them. If you plan on getting a snake fluted bull barrel, aftermarket trigger, target stock, and titanium bolt assembly, than the 10/22 is an obvious choice.

Remmy 597
I just bought one. Out of the box accuracy goes to the remmy. (both with tapered barrel) Ruger has many upgrades but it over price at about $240. I bought the 597 from walmart..... Camo stock and blued barrel for $167
