Help for a new lake P. fisherman

Reply

I'm a kayak fisherman. I've been fishing freshwater for awhile now but would like to try my hand at some saltwater fishing. I'm gonna head out Saturday and would like any pointers someone may be able to point me in. I'm mainly looking for a spot where I can put in and not have to "paddle" ..heh.. for four miles to the fishing hole.

a few places
not sure if geohagan is still producing but its just a few hundred yards from the landing. once it warms up, hit the hwy 11 bridge on the south shore. you can drop ur kayak in right on the side of the road and should e able to get a few, jus pick a calm day

I also fish out of a kayak and there are a lot of Kayak Fishing Clubs around that can help with a lot of info. Check out Bayou Coast Kayak Fishing Club, thats the one I decided to join.
As for Geohahgen's Canal, I fished there yesterday from 7am to 2pm and did't land anything. One bite and that was it.
I am gonna try Grand Isle later in the week. Shoot me an email if you want to come along.

The water at Geohagen's was also very muddy and I didn't see any bait at all.

Go to Lake Road in Lacombe. You can fish Bayou Lacombe or hit the cuts into the marsh theres some Reds in there.

Thanks for the input. I'm gonna definately check out some of the kayak clubs around the area. Someone was telling me to try the pits right off of Hwy 1 right before Grand Isle. I guess it will depend on the weather mainly to see if I'll go down that way or not.
