Homemade Rabbit Bags!!

Reply

Homemade Rabbit Bags. They are better than those vest that you get from the stores. They take the weight off your back. They have 3 compartments, one for your shells, another for water, leases, radio etc., and the netting compartment is for the rabbits. Holds 4 swamp rabbits without a problem.

Are you manufacturing some for sale?

Soon!
will have some for sale soon. ordered more material today, it usually takes me 2 or 3 days to make one becuase on my work schedule. They will probably sell for about $60. They are 100 percent washable. Just dont let them dry out in the sun, some of the material is canvas, lifetime vinyl, and leather.

I dont know about 60 bucks! Kinda steep. I am sure its good craftsmanship but dang! I would like two! Can ya come down a bit? Ive got a leather and oil canvas mcalister bag for less than 60........ Not knocking your bag but its hard to know quality for sure without putting my hands on it..... Looks good though! I would like to get my pod one too! let me know!

I agree with you on price
60 bucks is a little steap but this bag will last you long enough that you will pass it on to your child or grandchild. my great grandpaw used to make it out of just canvas and leather and those lasted 20 to 30 years. I have basically the same material and some of the material comes with a lifetime warranty. I'll be honest bag cost me around $30 to make. Than you add in the time and labor, ill say 60 is a fair price. Wasn't really looking to sell any just showing what i use and make since there has been alot of rabbit post. Thanks for the interest.

well
If I get you two orders do ya think you can take time to make me a couple? Those would be perfect for upland hunting too. Also it will work nice for a training bag. I have a training bag but it is cumbersome and large. Lots of bumpers, scents, collars and all. This will be perfect for taking a few things from the big bag and using exactly what I need while field training. My bud is a big rabbit hunter. He will find this bag as a nice thing to have too! Thanks for sharing. Let me know if you want to make me two. No hurry.

Sure thing!!
I am going to start working on some this weekend might beable to complete two over the weekend. I will prolly make a few dozen through out the off season. This will be the only way for me to get a few extra dollars in my pocket to purchase some new dogs with out hurting my income for the family. Just email me some of your info, such as location and when you might want them. Thanks again for the interest. ocmond03@yahoo.com

Might Be A Problem When Hunting With Dogs
I love the bags...and they seem to be real light....the only concern I have is maybe using one while hunting with dogs and holding a couple rabbits in that netting.

Just at the site of the rabbits in the netting may cause the dogs to want to follow the hunter. Also...blood or urine falling onto the hunter's clothes as well as the ground. Would it be possible to add a closed in pouch for the rabbits out of canvas maybe lining it with some poly?

netting
once you had a rabbit in the netting it sticks out away from your body a bit. may get a few blood drops on your boots, and maybe every now and then a drop get on my pants but its hunting, its not suppose to be clean. if you dont gut your rabbit then there's no chance of blood drops. and i never had a problem with the dogs seeing the rabbit. if you got dogs that hunt that dead rabbit in the bag wont catch their attention at all they'll just get back to doing what they love to do

yea
i agree with rabbit chaser, we've never had a problem with the dogs trying to follow the hunter cuz he had a rabbit in the sack. even right after the kill and showing it to em, most lose interest in looking at it even before it makes it to our sacks
