By the look of things I have way too much turkey hunting gear. (B-Mobile and a hen decoy, new shells, new vest, 3D leafy suit, gloves, face mask, box call, gobbler, 7 locaters, the wing, mouth calls, 4 different friction calls, flashlight, and video camera). But according to one buddy; I donít have enough! I have learned over the yearsÖĒItís better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have itĒ. Me and RP have been scouting some places we hunted last year. We have seen lots of birds. The other morning we saw 4 gobblers 7 jakes and 23 hens. It got my heart pounding. Iím bringing my 8 year old nephew on his first turkey hunt youth weekend. I canít wait! Is anyone else ready for turkey season to open?

Ready as I will ever be! BTW, look at the March issue of the Sportsman, has some incredible turkey stories.

March Issue
I really wasn't to impressed with the turkey stories in this months issue. The Fast Feathers story is some what helpful. I am prolly wrong, but it seems like it was a story very similar printed a few years back.

Warmer Weather
I heard two gobble this morning. I think this warmer weather is WAKEING them up! (lacoonazz) you should give turkey hunting a try. There is nothing like it but be warned.....it's like a bad drug. Once your hooked you can't stop.

I would not waste my time chasing them things, it's fishing time!! :-)

Randy......Fishing?!
Fishing? Really? I know for a fact that you would trade a 20 lb bass and your first born to chase them ol' jelly heads.

No Luck
I took my nephew yesterday for the youth hunt. No luck. We did not see or hear any birds. My other nephew went with his dad to their lease and had the same luck but as they were leaving they scared some turkeys out of the field.

Don't feel bad!! This sucks!! The worst scouting ever, 2 days and 30 miles of woods and not a peep!! I hope this week gets them going. Good luck to everyone out there, and fish I will trade my first kid :-) but I'll keep the second..
