Jack Crevalle on Fly

Reply
Pictured in Dr. Bobby with a 30-pound jack crevalle he landed on a 10-weight fly rod last week while fishing with Capt. Rich Waldner. These bruisers are bad enough on spin tackle...let alone a fly rod. After quickly weighing the brute on a BogaGrip, it was released to fight again. In additon to the jacks, there have been plenty of nice reds around too. When the wind cooperates, expect 20+ shots per day on fish cruising the shallows and oyster reefs.

If you want your chance on a trophy red or maybe to tangle with a jack on fly, give me a call and I'll schedule your fly trip with a one of the great fly guides.

It took me nearly 30minutes to catch a crevalle half that size on spinning gear, I can only immagine on the fly.

I got spooled one time by a Jack in Lake Ponchatrain, very impressive to land one on a fly rod, congrats.
