I have been thinking about getting my trolling motor shaft extended and wanted to know if this was possible and how much it would cost?

Opposite
I need to do the opposite. The shalf is to long on my Maxxium. It is foot controlled. Does anyone know if the shalf can be cut???

Trolling motor
the shaft on a trolling motor can be cut down . But to go longer you have to buy a shaft in the length you want.
There is a trolling motor repair shop in covington (i think) that can do either modification.

I have 1
I have a the big shaft extension on mine, and it works very well. They have two sizes, I think the little one is somewhere around $20-$30 and I think I paid $30-$40 for mine. I don't know exactly how much it was but it definitely wasn't more than $40.

...just keep in mind there is never any factory excess of wire to allow for length...which means cutting, spicing, crimping or re-soldering terminals...it's a lot of work when 'ya try to make it longer...cheers

I just had mine extended, 72 lb rip tide @ fox's in Mobile, Alabama from 54'' to 64'' for $60.00. Did not change the lifetime warranty, no bending over anymore. Well worth the money.

I tried, Admiral
I tried to make mine longer, Admiral. Went to Johnson's Funeral Home and got a nice one for $10 but could not find a single surgeon to put it on for any price!! Very disappointed with the whole replacement thing!!!
