Vermilion Bay Friday

Reply
Here's my thoughts on where to go Friday. Have some guests coming so I really need to get on some good fishing so any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.
Tide will be moving in strong until 9 inside the bay. Thinking about starting at Mud point and try to pick up some reds possibly some trout until high tide. Once the tide stops moving in, I want to go to tee butte with a slow moving out tide. The wind will be blowing from the west for 3 days so there should be some clean water there by Friday. Any thoughts?

What reef are you talking about? Murphy's reef on the east side? Or is it just inside the pass?

reef i'm talking about is at the mouth of the pass
as it enters the gulf. water goes from 40ft to
3ft. bait has nowhere to go but to the surface
watch for the water churing up. on a outgoing tide its easy to find. if the bait is there so will the birds. just read that they shut it down again.

Sounds like he is referring to Caldwell Reef. Never heard of a Murphy reef to the east. Is it the same as Pavies(Sp?)?

Murphy's is the first reef to the east once you exit the pass. At least that's what we call it. You know how everyone has a different name for the reefs. It is just before diamond reef.
