Lake P
Hey whitebeans,

Now, I am by no means an authority. I have been saltwater fishing from a boat ONCE in my life and that was last week when a gentleman from this forum took me out to fish the causeway.

What I can tell you is that if you head to Madisonville and just go down Main St until it turns into a tiny little winding road and then a gravel road, you will run straight into a 2 boat launch with several piers where you can put in and are a 10 minute ride from the Causeway.

I think we might be headed that way again on Wednesday. Caught 9 nice specks ( 2 were really nice ) last time fishing around the pilings and saw some other guys who had even better luck than us, probably due to my lack of experience.

Good luck, and let us know how you do!

Slidell
You can launch in Slidell and fish the marsh around the Carr Drive area.

yep
You can get live bait at Dockside on old Rat's Nest Road (sign says Lakeview Dr, but whatever) then launch at the old Tite's on Hwy 11. Just go into the lake, and follow the shoreline until you get to the end of Carr Dr, then just turn into the canal and go exploring. A friend of mine lives there and said a lot of times they do well up in there.
