boat/gas tank

Reply
I bought one of those crappy boats from bent marine. Take in mind,' they just sold me this lemon', they did not make it. It is a kirkland.
My question is when I put gas in the tank and it will spit back at me. This has a vent made to the gas spout. The boat is a 2007. Can anybody refer me to a place that can fix this. Please do not say Bents!! They tried several times to fix this and gave up when the manufacturer went belly up.

Not sure exactly what your setup is, but I had issues with fuel spitting back out of my air vent and solved them by taking 15 minutes to install a RACOR LG100. Costs about 100 bucks, and has been a great investment for the pains it's saved me fueling up. Hope this helps.

I have a 1998 champion that had the rear fuel tank hose too high which allowed me to put only a few gallons in the tank. I cut the hose and re-attached, but as I would fill up, the gas would 'burp' back out, letting the air out, I now get 6 or 7 gas station paper towels and wrap around the nozzle as the gas is pumped. as it burps it absorbs the spillage.. dont know if this is going to help, but its what i did..........

you can install a fuel fill warning whistle in the vent line near the tank. when filling, it will whistle, and as tank gets full, there is less air comming out and will stop whistling. you can get them from West marine for $34.00 i think.
