No, its a gimmick like many other things. I'm sure some people swear by it, but I'm not buying it.

From trying it out, I will say it's a gimmick also. There are def. cheaper ways.

Yes they work, but no - they don't stay that way. If you are lucky and get one "fresh" from the factory - the scent elimination characteristics of the garment will last all of about one hunt - if you keep it locked air-tight before it's used. There are some who swear by these garments, and having that confidence is worth a lot (more confidence = longer, harder hunting which equals success). Without going into too much detail..... in order to "reactivate" carbon and "squeeze out" organic molecules (human scent), the temperature must be around 1200 degrees F. I think that the average drier could go up to about 150 degrees F. Not just that fact... but also your clothes would turn into carbon at that high of a temperature (1500). Now don't get me wrong -- the scentblocker and scent lock garments are quality-made clothing. But if you really want to stay scent-free; Shower before the hunt with non-scented shampoo/soap, wash clothing in baking soda or comparable non-scented detergent, keep scent-free clothing in an airtight bag, wear rubber boots, but most of all.....keep the wind in your face. If the wind is not in your favor for a specific stand site, hunt somewhere else - even if it means hunting on the ground. I have found that all of the scent elimination prevention in the world still can't defeat a deer's nose - so my advice is hunt the wind. FWIW - I own scentblocker clothing, but it really makes no difference to me - the deer don't seem to be impressed at all.

I will say this. I have seen more deer this year than ever before and much more close encounters than ever before. this is the first year I have used Scent Lok.

I use the Base Layers and the Savanah Jacket. I always use a ScentLok hat and Face mask. I also use the deodorant that is scent shield and the scent elimination spray pretty heavy. It cannot hurt. Its all a game of doing things that increase your chances and I think Scent Lok is one of those things.

I am not nieve to think this stuff totally eliminates scent but what I do believe is that it reduces scent enough to make the Deer think you are farther away from them than you really are.

I say mininmze scent.
Find a probable spot.
Climb high and Sit still.

I think the spray and deoderant lessens your scent. Clothes are clothes, period.

Most of it is probably in peoples head.
These product make you feel like your chances are increasing so as a result the hunter may sit quiter and move less since they have confidence in the product since it was so fricking expensive.

Who knows???
I think the logo is cool..

Yes they do and there is research to prove it. They do not eliminate all scent but they do reduce the amount to levels that cause deer not be as alert and cautious.
I have been using it to bowhunt for 9 years now and have not been busted by being blown at by deer in the last 6 years. This year I forgot my sccentlok bag at home and hunted with the wind in my favor and was blown two out of three days. That is enough proof for me.
Most people who have used them and said they don't work don't use them correctly. The cloths must be left in a scent proof bag and only put on before you walk to your stand. It should never be worn on a four wheeler or in a truck or the camp, Think about it it is designed to absorbed, so it will absorb any scents you are around. I acutally have walked half way to my stand in my boxers and boots when it is hot.

This is the best way to eliminate spooking seer from scent. I think the clothes is a way too expensive, I use the scent eliminator detergent, spray, body wash, and deoderant. I mean you have to wash your clothes, yourself and wear deoderant anyways, so why not use the scent eliminator products. I dont see how enough carbon can stay in the clothes to prevent scent. Anyway a lot of scent comes from your head and also breath.
It is impossible to smell something if you are upwind of it.

Yes, scent-loc works for me.I have been using the system for about 8-years, maybe longer. I have always used the scent-away products, scent-killer Body soap, cleaned my gun with scent free oil, I use a nylon gun strap, and spray it also, never leather it holds odors. I saw a post w while back that said.It works as long as there are no weak links in the chain. So with that said, pay close attention to personal hygiene, all your extra accessories maintain scent free. I notice'd the difference in the close encounters with wild game, hogs, deer. while scouting for sign in bedding /feeding areas. It's very hard to play the wind while scouting, so when I'm walking around the woods in Scent-Loc. I rarely spook the game out of the woods..They usually sneak around circle back to try and wind me. I just stay still, and their curiosity gets the best of them and end up comming right up my trail with in bow range.I can then decide if I want to take that animal, or hunt them again. It also works well when there are immature deer eating acorns under my tree in my protable tree stand, and then see the more mature animals watching their body language, that'its O.K. to come around..The last thing you want is the wind to swirl around, up and down, and spook your live decoys..Also you don't burn-out a stand site quite as fast while wearing scent-loc.to and from your stand. So yes it works to your advantage while hunting or scouting.( most people say" I've found a great area, spooked deer, then hang a stand and don't see a thing, I don't have that problem anymore". your new site will be just as fresh as it was before you went in there. You have to be carefull not to touch anything without the gloves, headcover, hat on. It does reduce the amount of total body odor that you give off..and they do have breath shields also.
It's funny that everyone that I talk to that uses Scent-loc, Takes proper care of it loves the results. wet ot dry it works the same.sweating or not. I use a couple of layers all scent -loc. baselayers, savanna light weight shirt & pants, then a heavier layer of Dokata or supreme, I also use the old microsude as a light layer too.
The CRIDICS are the ones that do not use the system corectly, or activate it enough or wear other clothes under it that has fabric softiner smells. or just don't want to pay for it.and for someone to say, Ive'tried it and it dosn't work. I dont believe that.. Who would loan out their $$$$clothes for someone to sweat in or dirty it all up for you. they are lying, and don't know from experience..

For me, My TIME IN THE WOODS IS VALUEABLE, so why go the cheap-way out. the scent sprays are not enough.
sorry for the long winded explanation, however i wanted to give good examples for why it works.

During early season I use my savana series, I see alot more deer, I could be dripping wet w/ sweat and they still come within bow range, I dont have to play the wind as much but I still try to hunt with it. But during the winter I know I can take longer shots and set up way off of travel routes and stay as still as I can. I too use a scent free body wash, deoderant and cloths wash (they have earthscent dryer sheets now). I do believe you are at an advantage when you use scent eliminating clothing. The key is to not leave scent in the woods were you will be hunting.

before I go hunting, I like to pack little deer crap pellets in my pockets. I also gargle with tinks 69. then I vacuum pack my clothing, walk to my stand starch naked, adorn my latex body condom, and then take my clothes out of the sealed bag, and dress to look like a tree. Its all a gimmick. rubber rain gear or gortex works fine.

Thanks
