Pretty interesting map of where Louisiana record book bucks are killed. It's derrived from the official reports on the Dept. of Wildlife and Fisheries website, as to where record class bucks have been taken in the state. It coincides with a lot of major rivers.
Here are the official numbers of record book bucks entered into LDWF Big Game Records. It can be found on LDWF website. The admission criteria is as follows:
Gun: Typical, 160"; Non-Typical, 185"
Muzzleloader: Typical, 120"; Non-Typical, 150"
Archery: Typical, 110"; Non-Typical, 140"
Below is the number of individual deer killed per parish that are listed in "the books". It doesn't necessarily mean that the 3 parishes you inquired about do not produce big bucks; it simply means that some parishes consistantly produce monsters, while others hardly. If you look at sattellite imagery of your three parishes, you can see that there is more open farmland/square mile than virtually any other part of the state, which can help explain the lower numbers; there is simply not as much open woods as other parts of the state. Also, these three parishes are centered between two major river systems, which throughout history could have naturally isolated an inferior gene pool. There are exeptions to the statistics, but you can gain insight into where you SHOULD BE if you want the best probability for taking a bigger buck, such as Tensas or West Feliciana Parish.
