Fished out of Bayou Pigeon landing Monday, had 6 keepers total. Had 2 keepers early in Cross Bayou/Murphy Lake on spinnerbaits. Several throw backs also on the hardwear. Moved to the Big Pigeon area(close to the lake), picked up 2 more keepers on worms(and a 15" sac). No lost of goggle-eye…

Fishdoctor,

Do you think my buddy and I could do some damage to the goggle-eye this weekend in Pigeon? I normally fish Henderson, but that area is somewhat poor lately. I would love to catch an ice chest full of big goggle-eye before duck season. Thanks in advance.

The wife wanted to take the kids crabbing Saturday so we loaded up and headed to Joseph Harbor. Good Lord, the people. Every possible spot was loaded with boats, people, and dogs. Not wanting to fight the crowds, I told her lets go try one of my redfish spots for a while and see if the crowds…

Hey yall. I'm planning to starting doing some offshore fishing (out of Fourchon), and was looking for any advice for people just starting out. I've done a good deal of inshore fishing (trout, reds, etc.), but this is a whole new territory for me. Any advice on techniques, baits, rigs/knots, or…

Took an afternoon trip on Monday then a morning trip on Tuesday. Caught tagged red fish both days. Water was murky and the bite was far and few but managed to get four reds and one drum. Most caught on the matrix shad and some on dead shrimp.

These pictures were taken in June '08. When one of these boats left, it was not long before another boat would come and fish up next to the wier.

I heard someone say that they were fishing with someone and they would pull up to a spot, drop a wire in the water and if the salinity wasn't right they would roll to another spot. I guess they were testing the water till they found the perfect 'salinity' for trout and then Fish in that spot. Can…

Capt. Paul, I was just wondering if you can share some coordinates to some rigs and/or reefs just out of the pass near Cypermort Point.

Thanks in advance,
Jeremy
Hey Capt. Paul just wanted to thank you for all the help. I will be going check out as many as these places as I can tomorrow.

I know it’s not traditional fishing, but I thought y’all would like to see what’s under the water at local fishing spots you guys frequent often. First spot is cypremort point bridge in the canal and second spot is bayou techie boat launch. Pretty cool finds for my first time…

You should try that down tech lake canal rd.
I'm sure there's some good stuff in the water around there.

Another day another mess of Sac-a-lait in the rice field canal. I caught them on the same thing I have caught them on for a month now. A tri color jig with a gold or silver spinner take your choice, with a 1/32 ounce or 1/16 ounce jig head. The tides were pushing out strong today causing them to…

I usually have always stuck to beaches and piers around the coast but have recently been moving more towards inshore bank fishing. Due to the lack of a boat I'm very limited where I can fish so the open beaches are always nice.

I've gotten petty good at catching from beaches and…

@Angler Management I am in a similar situation. As far as where to go... Robinson Canal(below Houma) is a good place to find drum. It is not an open beach, but shrimp/dead mullet on the bottom will net you a few drum. Try the Matrix Shad tipped with a little dead shrimp at PAC under a cork.

I am going to Toledo Bend and was wondering if anyone can give me some pointers on were some good spots are for Bream and Sacalait. We are suppose to be staying around the mid lake area. I think there is a bridge near their. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I found out the camp is on Lanan Bay. It is suppose to be minutes from the Pendleton Bridge. Is there good fishing around the bridge for Sacalait?

Do you know the Basin very well? The fishing there is outstanding and is not very far away. False River is probably the closest place to go from BR. I just graduated from LSU in May and fish as much as I can. Let me know if I can help anymore.
