Kenny Boy is one of the guys who helped tow me to the dock when my prop shaft broke. Posting this on his behalf since he has a company computer and can't post, but he can read posts. We've become good friends so not gonna review where exactly he caught them, just the lake.

Kenny doesn't keep bull reds, he prefers not to even keep one but the fish were biting. Said they were mixed in with trout. He got out there just as daylight broke and found the birds dive bombing the jumping shrimp. Said the fight was on. Limited out on reds and caught 25 mixed trout.

Haven't seen any recent reports from Capt. Mayfield. Was told that he had a Mitzi Skiff for his pond redfishing. Trying to get his opinion or anyone elses who has this boat. Thanks.

Went to Montegut today. Decided not to launch the boat on account of the rain. The trouble I had was I paid to launch at the marina and the old guy who runs it was a total jerk. Now I work in the customer service industry and if I talked to one of my customer's that way....instant firing. I was…

Can any help?? I am having a 1/2 acre pond dug in my backyard, and I'm thinking about stocking it with sac-a-lait only. Does anybody have any good tips, or recomendations on what ratios of species to stock with. I am very open minded. Any help is appreciated.

Hey I was wonderin if anyone could give me some advice on some good alligator gar fishing around the southwest portion of the state. Really anywhere is fine, but I live in the Lake Charles area so its more convenient. Also what kinda gear do I need in order to go after the monsters?

Hope I'm posting this in the right spot. The kids and I would like to get my husband a good ice chest for Father's Day. We're planning on sending him on a fishing charter for his birthday, so he'll hopefully be needing it for the ride home with lots of tuna! I've been checking out the different…

Sam's sells ice chest for a reasonable price. 120 or 150 qt. would work depending on how many fish are caught. Usually the charter cleans the fish for you for a small fee, and saves a lot of room in the cooler.

Has anyone compared the Legend Cartography 'Louisiana Geaux ' card to the Standard Mapping 'LA-1' card?
Is there any great difference in the two? I fish the spillway , Verret, Des Allemandes, Delacroix, Laffette and sometimes Venice. I'm looking for a good Aerial Imagery mapping system. If…

legend cartography cards have better resolution than the standard mapping cards.

the la geaux card has some accented colors and the la unleashed has the original color palette.

As far as area covered you can go on the sites and see the boundaries.

I wouldnt buy anything other than Shimano reels if you want them to last. But since you only fish in Louisiana a couple times a year Quantum Energy reels would be fine for reds and specks.

What is the best way to freeze Speckle Trout? I freeze my trout in water but when I fry them after a few months they don't taste good. I now only eat them fresh.
I put a few drops of lemon juice in the bag when I freeze mine

I am considering buying a Blazer Bay 2170 - do any 2170 owners have opinions about the boat and what size motor would you recommend - 150, 175, or 200 HP- and which brand motor - suzuki or yamaha- thanks for the information
Look down 5 posts to the one that says "4 stroke" it is a disscusion on which motor is better. For me it is the Suzuki DF 175. Good luck.
