.... A good while back either here on in the La. magazine someone was talking about a sinking dog food to throw out to attract shrimp to be able to castnet them for bait ....

Does anyone know the name of the dog food .....
We use fish heads but sometimes we run out...........

If you can find some pogie meal, that is the best thing I have tried. You can mix it with corn meal and make some dough balls then chunch a few in the water every hour or so.

My buddy's dad just bought a camp on Lake Catherine. We have never fished the area and are looking for some pointers. I know the train trestles can be productive, but don't really know how to fish them.

The biggest slabs I've ever caught. Though they all weren't this size, they were all bigger than normal. They were Toledo Bend-Lake Fork- Sam Rayburn sized!

Just wondering how rough lake P gets around the twin span and train trestles? Too rough to fish out of a 15' bass boat? I know the lake is rough some days but on an average day what you recommend?

I got a 16 ft and in the lake I go with winds 10 mph or less only. That short ride from the dock can get rough.

I know that city park is loaded with these rio grande perch. Has anyone ever eaten one of these. They are practically catching these things on bare hooks. I'll try to eat one of these, but if anyone has any feedback, I'll take it.

The Rio Grande cichlid is a fine fighter, and easily caught. It is considered good table fare. The Texas state record was caught in the South Llano River in 2001 and weighed 1.59 pounds.
