Delacroix Poisson Rouge Rats- Day One!

I was able to get on a lot of rat reds the other day. I was also lucky to land 1 nice slot. Also lost several on an in-line spinner. I think the hook was to big on that lure for the rats. Most of the hook ups came on an old school Johnson spoon and a vudencork.

A co-worker of mine has been doing good on the reds around the black river outlet West of the lighthouse. He's using a black split tail grub on a lead head bouncing off the bottom back to the boat. Hope this helps and good luck. Lake P had been peaceful lately with this hot weather.

Tides pretty flat that day. Try to find some locks, a narrow cut spot or even a pass that has moving water. I've found stagnate water equals stagnate fishing. Good Luck!!

Yak launch for HWY 11?

Anyone know a good spot to launch a yak to fish the HWY 11 and I10 bridge? There looks to be a sandy area near where 11 and 10 meet and I could possibly launch there. Also, any fish reports from that area? Looking to go out Monday or Tuesday. Just one trout and one red out of Lacombe today

Lotta folks launch at the ole Tite's Launch near the base of the Trestles bridge,no doubt a yak could launch there,possibly closest launch to the Trestles.The grass beds outta Lacombe should have plenty of reds waiting a spinner bait!!

Headed out this morning amongst the threat of storms. But we heard about specks being caught so we went out and gave it our best.

Found a few small guys. Just one keeper made it into the box today.

Nonetheless, we are excited to see the trout returning!
