I was able to get on a lot of rat reds the other day. I was also lucky to land 1 nice slot. Also lost several on an in-line spinner. I think the hook was to big on that lure for the rats. Most of the hook ups came on an old school Johnson spoon and a vudencork.

My boys and I decided we needed some yak therapy and had gotten some intel dat there may be some willing participants in the form of some fine reds out in de Lake possibly within fairly easy yak reach and we found only a few with none coming home with us as I boated a fine lil red, possibly 12…

A co-worker of mine has been doing good on the reds around the black river outlet West of the lighthouse. He's using a black split tail grub on a lead head bouncing off the bottom back to the boat. Hope this helps and good luck. Lake P had been peaceful lately with this hot weather.

A few people told me the gators were out in full force around Delacroix. “ It’s the worse we’ve seen in years… you be careful in dat kayak!” They were not lying! I am used to running across gators but I have never seen so many on a…

A few highlights of a recent team tournament and the goal was the heaviest weight of 5 specks and 1 slot red. The heaviest weight of both team members would decide the winner. My partner got his 5 specks and 1 slot red. I pride myself in being able to find and catch reds but I am weak in the trout…

I lost a nice one and was ready to give up on a very windy, cold, slow and shallow water morning. I kept pushing on and was able to land a nice slot.

Almost a Cajun slam... just couldn't find that legal trout. In hindsight- I really didn't look that hard for the trout.

Did a little scouting and found little gold submarines all over!
A few highlights from my new spot.

A nice, quiet, and peaceful morning in Delacroix, La. is always a good thing. I was fortunate to hook up with a couple of green trout and reds on this brief trip.

I decided to try an area where I never see people fishing. I was shocked to discover that- yes... there are fish here!

A few clips of some heart pounding attempts to catch some tailing reds on a very foggy morning.
nice video.......looks peaceful.........congrats

Recap of a “Cajun Sleigh Ride”! This one lasted about 10 minutes. It was a nice red that I was able to sight cast to on a very foggy day. I initially thought it was a bit larger than it really was. It turns out that the lure went through its mouth and came out the gill. So it was essentially…

My 3rd shakedown cruise on the 2019 Hobie Outback. It turned out to be an extremely windy day. I was lucky enough to grab a couple of nice trout and several small reds. Fighting the wind and current back to the launch was tough but the Outback performed well. I am trying to figure this new yak…

I'm looking to launch my kayak or canoe next Monday, 11/19, I haven't been able to get much practice in the past year due to a newborn so I'm still basically new. Does anyone have any recommendations on where to try? I was thinking maybe near Reggio, or somewhere on the Northshore, as I live in…

Tides pretty flat that day. Try to find some locks, a narrow cut spot or even a pass that has moving water. I've found stagnate water equals stagnate fishing. Good Luck!!

A shout out to PAC Kayak Rentals for hosting Redfish Roundup this past weekend! I was able to pull in 5 fish: 1 undersize, 2 oversize, 1 keeper, and 1 non-species. Many nice stringers were weighed in but the usual heavy hitters stole the show. It was a great time and many thanks to Eddie and Lisa…

A nice, quiet, and peaceful morning in 'da' marsh. First cast and foul hooked a new PB for my smallest speckled trout!

Went looking for trout but couldn't catch a single one. I was still lucky to land him even though he and the surf beached my yak.

A few hook ups from a lazy Tuesday morning in 'da' marsh before the storms brewed up.

Do I need to fish the tressles north or south, or out of bayou Lacombe tomorrow? Supposedly light north winds, no rain. And anyone know where I can get some live shrimp? Thinking about using that tomorrow instead of plastics. Redfish, trout, drum, doesn’t matter, let me hook into something.…

Anyone know a good spot to launch a yak to fish the HWY 11 and I10 bridge? There looks to be a sandy area near where 11 and 10 meet and I could possibly launch there. Also, any fish reports from that area? Looking to go out Monday or Tuesday. Just one trout and one red out of Lacombe today
Lotta folks launch at the ole Tite's Launch near the base of the Trestles bridge,no doubt a yak could launch there, possibly closest launch to the Trestles. The grass beds outta Lacombe should have plenty of reds waiting a spinner bait!!

What is that in the beginning? Otters?
There was about 6 of them just popping up and saying high and then go under to only pop up again.
Anyway- post tropical storm Gordon trip. Literally fished for 17 minutes.
The trailing bands from the storm ran me off. But I was lucky to hook up early…

Just read Todd Massons report about bank fishing at Seabrook. Never been to this place but would love to drag my kayak with me to work one day and do an evening recon mission to scratch off a Jack from my bucket list! Anyone have any information on where to go? Where to launch? I googled it…

It's not a secret!
'Seabrook public boat launch'
Stay away when there is a north wind.

Rigolets marina :

Headed out this morning amongst the threat of storms. But we heard about specks being caught so we went out and gave it our best.

Found a few small guys. Just one keeper made it into the box today.

Nonetheless, we are excited to see the trout returning!

FINALLY got out on my yak Saturday after having shoulder surgery almost 3 months ago. Stayed local and went to the Hwy 11 canal by the train trestles in Slidell. Weather called for calm winds and few clouds early, but they lied! Main lake was WAY to rough to venture out in the Ascend 12T! So I…

I noticed that boat launch right by the mouth of the canal. Is that a public launch?
