I've been hunting for a few years now in pearl river and I finally got a boat which opens up opportunity for better hunting. I was hoping that someone could help me And direct me to a promising area/areas. I have found a few spots that have been great for hogs but not really and signs for deer.…

Not really sure if there is an 'area for deer'. I've seen them miles from the road and I've seen them on the road. Got to spend time in the woods. I hunt the Pearl also and I see plenty of sign and had a few blow at me this past season. Just got to be in there

Well a little late on this one but my son finally got his 1st squirrel this past season. Thankfully the little thing was 1/2 blind and deaf or he would have not got it lol. But it makes for one proud papa to hear and see him get so excited about it and he is hooked now.

Surf...it was a win-win thing...seen it before w/innocent animals drinking out of chemical ditches...maybe his generation can change things...(we use to love the type of terrain you hunting in)...cheers

I've been told that their are places along Hwy 1 and other spots where fishing is not allowed. Not by the wildlife. But by land owners who say they one or lease the water rights also. Is this true? If so. Can someone please explain this. When I was young. No one owned the lake, bay or …

Many deer hunters would rather spend their deer hunting time on private hunting land than on WMA's. But for one crossbow hunter from Luling, Louisiana, Andreas Hackman made an unbelievable shot with crossbow at 40 yards. 'I had just climbed a tree on the edge of a slough around 3pm about 15 feet…

Does anyone know of a lodging facility below Venice close to the public lands?
Would be nice to bunk up around the Head of Passes of the night and be there in the early AM.
Check out Port Eads Lodge. It ain't cheap, but it fits the bill of what you're looking for. Your other option is pitching a tent downriver.

I haven't used steel shot on squirrels but I have had better luck with #4 lead over #6 . I find that the kill is more consistent and the pellets pass through them, less to chew on lol.

Every where you go you see billion being spent on land recovery in our Louisiana marsh. From Joe's landing South you have a area that was filled in for a subdivision several years ago. This runs for about half mile and has the best Roseau canes you ever saw and willow trees as tall as oaks. …

Never been out to south farms crawfishing but I plan on taking the kids this upcoming year. I've been reading about a gate you go through. Would anyone happen to know if its wide enough for an electric golf cart to fit through?

Thanks
yeah you can make it with an electric cart will be tight but it should fit unless you have fender flares on it

anybody know if this area has an ok deer population? Its 17 minutes from my house so its very appealing. Havent scouted it yet but may be doing that soon.
Curious if you got to do any hunting there this year and how it was? I've been wondering the same thing. I do know there are hunting clubs on 2 sides of it and private property on the back side.
