Hog Hunting

We continue to have fun during the summer months knocking out hogs while we wait for hunting season to roll around. 10 years ago, we hardly had any hogs now they are everywhere. Only good thing is we can hunt them year-round. We have taken 16 this summer so far by trapping and hunting.

Great job! I’ve shot a few too this summer. I have a spot in my hayfield where I dump all the leftover oil from frying fish, chicken, fries or whatever. They stay rooting in that oil soaked dirt/mud, no corn needed. Keep smoking them swine.

Nutria Knockout Video

I have permission from many property owners in our area to shoot nutria on their property. After the duck hunt Saturday, we took a ride to shoot some. Conditions were ideal, cold, sunny and low water. Alligators are dormant for the most part right now so the nutria come out for us to hunt.

There are some after market chokes you can buy pattern master or a strangler. They are expensive 100.00 . I have the pattern master just about anything you shoot thru it buckshot wise holds a tight pattern. stranglerchoke.com, patternmaster.com ,www.wadwizard.com Hope i have helped .

I don't think you can use the 444 in La. it's not a pre 1900 caliber.

I had a Nova and I hated it. It was not comfortable in my hands. I sold it and got a Beretta Xtreama 2. If it is a pump you are after you should maybe try a Remington 870 express. You can paddle a boat with it and it still shoots. I have had mine for 15 years.
