We continue to have fun during the summer months knocking out hogs while we wait for hunting season to roll around. 10 years ago, we hardly had any hogs now they are everywhere. Only good thing is we can hunt them year-round. We have taken 16 this summer so far by trapping and hunting.

Great job! I’ve shot a few too this summer. I have a spot in my hayfield where I dump all the leftover oil from frying fish, chicken, fries or whatever. They stay rooting in that oil soaked dirt/mud, no corn needed. Keep smoking them swine.

I have permission from many property owners in our area to shoot nutria on their property. After the duck hunt Saturday, we took a ride to shoot some. Conditions were ideal, cold, sunny and low water. Alligators are dormant for the most part right now so the nutria come out for us to hunt.
cool video man .. hopefully the ducks will show up for yall this last weekend .. good luck

I was thinking about trying out a deer decoy to try and lure a few in closer while bow hunting. Has anyone had any luck with a decoy? Any tips?

Only 5 weeks away and getting ready for what I hope to be a very good turkey season. The winter storm last week destroyed a lot of my woods. The ice storm dropped trees down all over the place and we are spending time just clearing roads and making sure everything is ok. I hope the wildlife came…

Anybody else on here frequently hunt with buckshot? If so, what load/choke combination works best for you? My 12ga 870 with a 26" barrel does best with 3" 00 winchester out of a modified. Shoots a pattern good enough to kill a deer at about 40 yards, but it is still not quite as tight as…

There are some after market chokes you can buy pattern master or a strangler. They are expensive 100.00 . I have the pattern master just about anything you shoot thru it buckshot wise holds a tight pattern. stranglerchoke.com, patternmaster.com ,www.wadwizard.com Hope i have helped .

I planted about 4 acres of sunflowers this year for a dove field and I'm having trouble with weeds. Just to give you a background on what we did for the field....
1. Sprayed it with roundup in late March.
2. Burned the dead grass with a torch in mid April.
3. Turned the ground over…

OK guys whats your opinion on the best choice 444 or 45/70 for deer hunting in LA for primitive weapon season. Also what brand of gun do you recommend?
I don't think you can use the 444 in La. it's not a pre 1900 caliber.

Hey Goldhunter, heard you bought a Nova, what made you choose that particular gun over other pumps? Does it have a dependable reputation in the field?
I had a Nova and I hated it. It was not comfortable in my hands. I sold it and got a Beretta Xtreama 2. If it is a pump you are after you should maybe try a Remington 870 express. You can paddle a boat with it and it still shoots. I have had mine for 15 years.

Got pics of the BioMaxx and brown top millet food plots this morning. Much progress since the first pictures. Didn't get a pic of the iron clay peas, there was a deer in the plot and I didn't want to spook it.

I was wondering if anyone has had any success with planting either soybeans or iron clay peas as a spring/summer food plot. When to plant them and how to fertilize and yada yada? Thanks in advance.
We planted them the deer eat them fast as they come up. I suggest plot saver to keep the deer out till they are grown.
