It was 36 degrees Saturday morning as the hard cold front passed through the area Thursday and Friday. The marsh was drained by two days of northwest winds. We were lucky we could get to our duck blinds on the lease. I hunted solo with another boat with two guys…

Opening weekend was up and down for us . Smashed them Saturday with a four man limit. Sunday only three mostly teal and spoonies all weekend and a couple scaup. Best weekend so far.

Saturday was a perfect day for a duck hunt two of us shot 6 ducks. 4 dosgris - 1 wigeon - 1 canvasback. Not a lot flying around in the sky.

Today we went to another lease a friend of mine has and two of us shot 1 pintail and 1 grey duck. Slow times continue.

No better then the 1 spilt ,hunted still 10am two man in one blind 6 ducks looks like hunting down south is a done for that 4 bad years in a row. short stop we need to be able to feed like up north, after all water in the feed or feed in the water same to me.

Mandy, I completely agree with your philosophy trying to get away from the other hunters, but right off of Bayou Liberty in Big Branch is outstanding hunting right now. We have limited every hunt , yesterday we had 5 people in the blind. Just a friendly note from a fellow duck hunter.

Hunted down in pecan island Saturday and only shot 5. Slow first split over all. Shot 40 total in 7 hunts. Hopefully the second split brings new birds and better hunting.

Hunted Thurs, Fri, and Sat last week to wrap up what turned out to be a pretty decent first split.

Log says it was 114 ducks on 13 hunts, included one DNS hunt on 12/3, and two hunts of 3 ducks or less. That includes the TWO ducks killed on the coastal zone opener, by far the worst…

Good to see you all are getting some gray ducks as our season is the opposite for them. It seems the gray ducks are rather concentrated, if you have them the good times will roll if not, not much will change. Good report on the season.

yeah Dredger... rough start we had a couple birds here and there this weekend. Shot a pair of widgeon. Hadn't seen a widgeon in years 20+. Perfect conditions on Sunday just nothing moving and no one hunting.

The ramp is open $10 in the drop box. They have hoses to clean the boat. Ramps are both in bad shape. Ramp on the drop box side is a little better but has a hole in it.
