While attending a beach wedding last Saturday in Pass Christian I saw several flocks of 100-150 Canvasbacks flying west along the beach ! Beautiful sight- got my blood up !!!
They probably didn’t stop until old Mexico. It’s been a long time since I shot a canvasback, maybe this will be the season.

How 'bout somebody post some good COOT recipes. I always take a few each year and usually butterfly the breast and fry like a piece of fish in Zatarains seasoned fish fry...can't tell it from a duck.

Well, we had a great teal season. One of the best and most satisfying in a long time. We limited on every hunt we made. In between 2 and 6 people. Teal came in as singles through flocks of 4. Opening day we had a bunch of hunters, so people wanted to shoot at everything that came into range,…

With teal season now wrapped up, I took the 2 minutes it required to crunch and re-crunch my numbers for the details below:

26 BW teal taken on 6 hunts

Though we started with a nice hunt on opening day taking 9 birds, the rising tides made sure we were unlikely to have…

The 2020 teal season in SE Louisiana was one of the best overall teal seasons I have ever had. Despite the aggravation of hurricanes, tropical storms and high tides the teal were there and we were lucky to be on the X. We made seven hunts limiting out on six of them.

The high water had us pushed out of the lease in Delacroix. Managed to find a few teal bouncing around the public options on the Northshore. We were able to take several limits this year, but teal numbers did drop as the season went along. Hoping this is an indicator of big duck season. …

Well I’m currently sitting in the Amite River swamp waiting on teal. I was covered up in woodies at daybreak and seen a pair of Mexican squealers fly by around 7:20. Anyone seeing/shooting teal?
