It seems to be nasty and sloppy every chance we have had for the last two months... we are planning to head out any chance we get in the coming weeks. We fish between Grand Isle and Venice 10-60miles out. Has anyone been more than 10 miles out in the last month with any result???

The rain shortened our fishing trip behind G.M. 5 shy of our 3 man limit 70 specks 3 reds, on down south lure chicken in c- color tight line on 1/8 grip jig heads.

No ducks so 11-29-19- went make a nice little trip in golden meadow 43 specks and 3 reds.

I'm hearing mixed reports about tiger pass. Some say it's not marked and a fella last week couldn't find any water deeper than 2 feet. Any comments and advice appreciated. Would anyone share a waypoint(s) to aid in navigating this pass?

Anyone know where to find Gamakatsu outbarb circles hooks? They work great can’t order them fast enough. Can pull the out with one finger no pliers needed. My wife started removing her own hooks and sharks are easy to get rid of and save the hook.
Academy
Saw them last night.
Been using them myself for a long time.

I have a Express H24B that I took out of Eugene Island last Sunday. Wind was less than 10 out the west. Gulf was mostly flat. I think we were out about 60 miles. When we returned people told me I was crazy. What’s everyone thoughts on this? How many folks go out in a 24’ boat. What…

We took advantage of the calm waters on the July 4th weekend and it paid off all three days. Harvested our limit of red snapper, mangroves and a few vermillion. Water was beautiful out of South Tim.

I went 33 miles out last month. The water looked thick like pea soup. The only thing i saw breaking the water was a guy pissing off a rig. I managed to catch a Giant Trevale on a big lure. It was so sad out there. I saw a huge charter boat chumming and all the clients jigging incessently but it…

The weather out in Venice, LA has been inconsistent, but the fishing is still great on our days out when the weather is in our favor.

Our Red Snapper bite is on fire. The bigger snapper are mostly caught on live Menhadden and Herring. Sometimes they will come off of dead bait as well.…

The offshore fishing out of Venice is definitely starting to move into a summer time pattern. Our Swordfish, Yellowfin Tuna, and Mahi Mahi catches have been in full force since entering into the summer months. Our largest Yellowfin weighed in at 191lbs, and our largest swordfish weighing in at…

How far are the rigs that hold red snapper out of grand isle? What depth is the water? I have a 24’ Express bay and the closest rigs where I live are 60 miles out.
Go Southwest at least 20 miles and you should be good

I inherited the father-in-law's fishing gear when he passed away. I'm keeping the old Mitchell 300 reels and inshore items. He has 4 offshore setups. the rods are worthless due to the guides unwrapping or broken. The reels are:
Daiwa 450H
Penn Leveline 350
Penn Senator 6/0…

Anybody have a clue when the season will open and what the limits and time frame we are looking at this year? We nailed a few 36 inch snapper last weekend and had to release them. They sure would have made some pretty blackened fillets. Thank you all in advance!!! signed : Capt. Motorhead

We'll be at Grand Isle in a couple of weeks. Where should we be throwing the cast net for bait (I know, in the water!) Back side of the island, going out the pass? Thanks for any advice.
If you are looking for minnows, before you get on The leeville bridge, throw your cast net in any other the little canals of water next to the light posts on the right hand side of the road. Usually full of minnows. Good luck!
