Stocking up for the house and camp with a little wine for the meals. Bottled up some blackberry, pineapple pear and some moscato. Muscadine is still cooking.

Planted a variety of fruit trees a few years ago and finally picking the fruits of the labor. Made my first batch of Mayhaw jelly and tried some Japanese plum jelly. Also added in some blackberry cobbler and will save the mulberries for some wine. Made some blackberry wine last year and tasted fine.

just curious, what other additions (proteins) do you add to crawfish, shrimp and crab boils. I know everyone adds sausage to the boils but anything else? I have added a pork loin to the water and it came out great. Anyone tried catfish filets?
I've never tried it personally, but it think catfish filets would fall apart in a boil. A few things I've tried as far as proteins is Mickey Browns Hot Tamale's, Hot Dogs,Deer Sausage, Whole Chickens,Eggs, Cocktail Weenies, and Oysters in the shell. They all came out good. Good Luck!

I was just curious as to what yall do with your lesser grade cuts from your deer and other biggame?
By lesser cuts Im talkin the ribs, neck, shanks etc. I hate to waiste any of a deer that I get so I always take all available meat from the carcass. I used to do my best to bone out the shanks…

I smoke necks and then oven to cook to 160 then shred for tamales or BBQ.

Thanks for the response. I have access to the grinder. I guess I just need to get a kit or recipe.
