Was hoping to find story on 239.8 lb yft caught in creole classic tourney this past Friday out of Bridgeside . I saw the tuna in cart and it was a pig. Was told it would be second place state record.

Fishing and accommodations were off the chart this past weekend ! Tks to Coco's marina crew mike glover and mark Trahan, Allan and Anna for making another stellar adventure for me and my crew.

As you can see my crew had a blast with the catching too !

I have understood for years that Mississippi residents hunting their own land are not required to purchase any hunting license.

Cocodrie is a great place to fish due to its vast area many islands which creates less pressure on one spot. First thing get you a couple charts and study the area From lake barre to west timabalier to raccoon island and understand the lay of the area. Next thing make sure your boat is seaworth enough for open bays that get rough and during pop up storms can be scary. Make sure you purchase a chart plotter with good nautical chart internally and learn the unit well. Coco's marina is a great place to stay with a pool great restaurant and very nice rooms that you can wet slip your boat underneath. Email if you need more scoop.

Cerallvo island due east of la Paz is very cool. Dorado , stripes , tuna are seasonal but the Sierra and pargo are always willing. The hammerheads around the island can be friegtening when in great numbers especially in small panga. Have driven South of la Paz numerous times to fish out of muertas bay. Much closer to fish and gorgeous area. San Ignacio to the west on pacific time is great time for grey whale watching in lagoon. Hit me with email if need more info.

Ask your Louisiana Dealer if they will match or nearly match the advertisment for the Miss Dealer. I have had good luck with this at GN Gonzales in Baton Rouge. I will say they didn't match but made it worth my time not having to drive up to Mississippi.

'Hamilton Beach Electric Knife Set With Case $19.99' bed bath and beyond has won't be dis-satified.....but no electric knife will go through the armor of redfish, snapper, etc... Electric for trout or skinning fillet's once deboned.

Good luck!

do yourself a favor and stop by bed/bath and beyond and grab a few of their $14 knives. I believe they are Hamilton Beach/GE??? but they are what Mark Trahan (CoCo's) uses to clean 1,000's of trout and they r all he uses.

HEEHEE, this is a first hand account of Mark/knife at Coco's...I am wishing I was cleaning fish now!

Well that sounds like a hoot! We were in Orange Beach a few weeks back for spring break and the condo's we stayed in had a pier that was very nice. The water was so clear and sea's calm we could see fish, stigray's swimming everywhere. My son swore he saw dorado swimming around the pier legs but i didn't believe they could be in this close. I see now you have proven they very well could have been.

Hunt R,
What lake?
You can spray boat lanes with Herbicide if lake is too large to treat entire body.

A comment titled: fishing in response to a report titled: Where to go

The most fun you can have with your kids without a boat is Elmers Island before Grand Isle. You can drive onto the beach, fish, crab, build sand castles, etc.. Drive along the beach until you see the dolphins and get ahead of them and cast as far out as possible a half of crab and hold on. Or you can drive east from the beach entrance to Camanda Pass which always has reds/trout. Be careful of the tides though in the pass if you decide to wade fish. Good luck >>>))))),:>

A comment titled: ChefGZ in response to a report titled: Grand Isle Advice

We went down to the camp last weekend hoping to run the boats for the first time this year and catch a few fish for the kids. But we have learned to take what Mother Nature offers and it was tough to take last weekend. Freezing temperatures, gail force winds, sand blowing like crazy caused the boats to stay on the trailers and a plan change was made.

We loaded the truck and headed to ELmers Island loaded with a sack of frozen crabs and mullet. The bruiser Redfish were on the beach chasing mullet. We had a blast despite the cold and winds. Look for the Porpoise and chunck that bait as far as possible and then hang on.
