My home was broken into saturday night. 32" Panasonic Viera, Sharp BlueRay player, and my wifes jewelry. One piece was a heavy gold Star of David that her grandmother carried from the Old Country as Hitlers was invading. Another was a "slide" bracelet. I could care less about the electronics, but I want that jewelry back. I will pay a reward.
I will pay a handsome bounty for the 3 "black males" in a red Pontiac........alive, 1/2 dead, or dead.
This happened in the Woodland Ridge and Camelot subdivisions near I-12 and Sherwood in baton Rouge.

Loaded up the dogs, hooked up the boat, packed the gun and shocker collars, filled the ice chest. Was plannin' to hunt some bunnies. Then I turned on the weather. DANGGIT, MAN !!!!! Just don't think I want to hunt in fallin' temps and rain. Dam the weather man/woman!!
Unpacked everything and came inside to drink coffee.
The Trafficlight Gang is not happy with me.

I ain't been fishin' in well over two years. The summers always seem to be so hectic now that I'm attached to a ball'n'chain. Luckily she allows me to hunt about as much as I can stand. Hardly ever hear a word when I say / ask to go hunting. My chirrens are 2,6,& 10. I need to get them out and fishing.
So how do you juggle family, work, honey do's, and the outdoors? I'm sure being independantly wealthy or idly rich helps some.

So with this years highwater in the Basin, what is the ol' timers take on how it effected the deers. It stayed up for some time pushing them goats to higher ground. How do you think this will effect hunting this year?

Proof bowhunters aren't the smartest monkeys in the cage. Here's Widowmaker in Iraq. He was sent to the back lines to wash dishes after this incident.

Here's an article on the fella representing the Louisiana Landowners Association. Saw his name in the Sunday Advocate in front page article on the Louisiana Black Bear. Seems he and his orginization is fighting the re-establishment of the bear.
Hope you read the article / expose on him. Seems like a real upstanding fella.....a true friend of the outdoorsman.

February 10, 2007 at 4:04pm

Got up Thusrday morning and sat around the camp eatin' biscuits an drinkin' coffee. Deciding that the driver wouldn't be at camp till 9:00 we decided to go take stands of our choice. While the others in my group chose higher ground, I decided to take to the water.
While loading my 3 wheeler we could here the dogs running on the lease next to ours. As I got off my bike I could here the race gettin' closer. I walked about 100 yds into the slough. Seeing a blowdown that looked advantageous, I headed to the spot and shooed the nutria rat from the log. As I started to take off my backpack I heard the distinctive sound of a deer easing through the water....doink,doink,doink. Spotting movement 75 yds from me I raised my rifle and could only make out the outline of a body. I let the rifle down and waited. Raising the rifle once more, I was frustrated to see that I had been breating into the scope. Once again I eased the rifle down and used my jacket sleeve to wipe the lens off. Once I had the rifle to my shoulder again, I made out the spikes and aimed high for the spine. BLAM!!! The old 742 Carbine roared and one more deer was added to my card for the season. The shot hit right where I wanted and dropped him like a sack of taters.
The rest of the morning I listened to some of the best races of my life. My heart felt as if it was gonna explode. the sound of deer running through the hip deep water and the baying of the hounds was awesome. One doe came by later tiptoing through the water. She couldn't have been 10 ft from me. What an awesome sight. The wood ducks, cardinals, robins, squirrels, and finches were in abundance.
I do love the Louisiana swamps in winter!!!!!

This one didn't live to see 2007. Mmmmmmm. Taste good. Was a perfect race from front to back. Dat old Sox is proving his worth.

January 09, 2007 at 10:30pm

Put out 9 dogs this morning on the east side and scored 3 deer. Finally broke my slump with a doe. It's good to be huntin'!!!

Seems that the Edgar's (Daniel and Joey) are headed to Federal Court for their misdeeds. Also, it's been said that they did try to have their case moved to State Court, but were rejected.
Let's all hope that they are coonvicted to the fullest extent that the law will allow.

Fine looking hound.
That part of the country has always been a dog hunting area. There are plenty of places in the state where dogs aren't run.
And how can anybody refer to themselves as a redneck if you dog appreciate a good hunting dog?

A comment titled: Not really..... in response to a report titled: Change The Deer Season

Only time I agree with what you are sayin' is when someone talks of eliminating my form of hunting. I agree with what the bowhunters have, I don't feel they are hurting anything, and most of them are psyco's anyway to hunt with sticks and strings......jab,jab,lol.
I DON'T agree with the new 'primitive weapons' season. You are right about it being pushed by retailers and gunmakers. A single shot 45-70, 444 marlin, .35 Whelen ain't no 'primitive weapon'.

Wanna get the ethanol out of your gas? Have the gubmint stop subsidising farmers and having the farmers give the politishuns a little kickback off those subsidies.

We're gettin' it in both ends.

A comment titled: squint and slap forehead repeatedly in response to a report titled: E10 gas is bad

E-10 IS THE END OF THE WORLD!!!!!!! Seriously....
I use Race Trace almost exclusively in my cars, trucks, boats, lawnmowers, weedeaters, etc.etc....
I have NEVER had a problem due to 'bad gas'. Stop drinking the Kool Aid folks.
My family boat sat up for close to 8 moths without ever being started. Pulled it out the shed, charged the battery, and she fired right up. I didn't even have a water seperator/ fuel filter on it at the time.
Let me give ya'll some real world advise.
#1 Update your fuel lines. Just about every fuel line made in the last 15 years is made for gasoline enhabnced with alcohol.
#2 Run a water seperator/fuel filter.
#3 keep you boats and/or gas tanks in the shade. Sunlight is a killer to gasoline.

Follow these simple rules and it will make your life so much easier.

If you want to be an Aviation Mech, go back to the recruiter and tell him you ain't going till he changes your contract. He sold you a bill of goods. If he won't help you out, walk over to the Navy recruiter and swap over. Also tell him you ain't leaving till after hunting season.

Why not launch in the Miss River or Lake Verret/Morgan City, or Belle River?
If you launch in the Perversion, you'll have to run south to Blind River to Lake Maurepas to Manchac Pass to Lake Ponchatrain thru the Industrial Locks (?) cross the Mississippi enter the ICW at Algiers Locks and head west.

When you take the airbox off, you'll see a brass plug on the front of the bowl where the hi speed jet is. This is usually where the problem lies. Take the bowl off, clean all the passages with some wire, blow with compressed air.
Eight out of ten times the hi speed jet is clogged because it sits lowest in the bowl and any trash is picked up by it.
Good luck.
