My grandson Brendon's first deer great job.
Here are some more pictures
I shot the hog with my crossbow Monday afternoon. 15 yards in the neck. My fiorst crossbow kill. He dropped in his tracks. Also here are some pictures of some bucks.
I guess I need to put out more corn for him or he needs to have a little more patients.
Took my grandsons with me this weekend. Brendon got a shot at his first deer but missed. Bryson got his shot and connected. I have had a great season this year before this weekend. This was the best weekend of the year.. My wife and both grandsons got shots at their first deer. My wife and Bryson connected.
Can't wait until Saturday.
Some more pictures from my hunting lease.
Can wait until bow season opens. A couple more weeks.
Brandon and Brison holding each a red fish they caught with their Paw Paw and Grandma Sunday moring in Dulac.
I'm planning a trip to Poverty Point the weekend of March 23. I've never fishing there. Can anyone give me suggestions on what baits to use and where to fish. I plan on renting a boat when I get there and fish at night of my wharf of my cabin and the boat docks. I'll be crappie fishing.
I took last week off and what a surprise. It was cold and the deer did move. Had a great week. Thursday afternoon I got this 8 point. 18 inch inside spread. Saw most of my deer in the afternoon.
HUnter-4-life, I was born and raised there.I still live there. I hunt in Central La. I'ved hunted these swamp for a long time and yes there are some very nice deer harvested each year there.
Spent July and the first weekend in August getting my hunting lease ready. We bush hogged and chopped all our roads and food plots. Our bow stands are ready for Sept. 16. I should have some pictures to show everyone after Labor Day weekend.
My wife, Hazel and I took our grandson Bryson on his first redfishing trip. I set the hook on the fisrt bite and hook a 19 inch red. Gave the rod to Bryson and the fight was on. He is only 4 but handle the fish well. After he landed it, he only wanted to be the net man the rest of the day.
We caught 11 reds, 7 drum and 3 flounder. We were back at the landing for 11:00.
Another great day spent in the outdoors Sunday. For Mothers Day, my wife wanted to go fishing. We went to our usual spot, Dulac. We troll motor the banks of a small bay and my wife caught the first fish, a drum. The tide was coming in strong, we anchored and the next two cast she had two reds in the boat. We caught eight reds and 3 drum in that spot. We moved to another spot anchored and caught our last two reds. We caught some good fish. We had two red at 28 1/2", two more at 26 1/2" and one more at 25". We had our limit of reds by 9:00am. Fried some for supper.
Me and my wife had a great time Saturday morning in Dulac. Our plans where to catch a few fish before the rain started. Well we did that. We where back at the landing by noon with our 10 reds, 7 drum, 6 flouders and a couple of specks. What a great way to spend a Saturday.
