Alright fellas I need some help. I have a few well used deer trails on a piece of land I hunt. I've never put bait or anything out before. My question is should I leave it alone or put feed out. I don't know if I put it out if it will spook the deer or they will take to it. Also how long does it take for them to find it and should I put it directly on trail or off to the side? I know its alot of ?'s but I don't want to mess up my spot. Any info is appreciated!!!

BUCK!
I realized I posted the wrong question yesterday. I appreciate the info anyway. I was shooting yesterday and actually its not my peep that is twisting but actually my string loop. I have to hold my serving above and below the loop and twist my loop to a certain spot so I can see out of my peep at full draw. After I make the shot my loop is turned to where I need to knock the arrow at (backwards). Then I have to twist again 180 degrees to make anothe shot. Pretty dam aggravating when trying to practice. What do I do. Help me out fellas!
BUCK!
Need a little help. How do you guys get your peep sights from twisting. I'll straighten out my loop on my string and fling two or three arrows and it is twisted again. So I knock another arrow and hold the serving around the loop and twist my loop until it is straight again. It's not bad just a pain in the a$$ trying to practice. Thanks for any input.

Fished Saturday from sun up to 11:30a.m. Water was on the rise but still managed to catch 25 bass. Just James reports were right on. Fished drainages in the flats and a few points in Pelba. Biggest one was 13 1/2" no keepers but still had a blast. Maybe next year they will be bigger.

Any bass reports on Lake Martin. Never been and would like to try. Camped at Indian Creek this past weekend and caught 15 quality bass. Is there a size limit on Lake Martin.
Thinking about going to Big Alabama on Mardi Gras day. Anyone know if the bass are biting. Or would I be wasting my time. What colors, and what type of cover. Any info is appreciated.

Has anyone purchased this camera from Academy. If so how does it perform , battery life etc. Thanks anything's appreciated.
The Buck
I went opening morning to Sherburne and was out of the woods by 10:30. Only 10 deer were weighed in by that time.(5 Bucks - 5 Does) The big buck so far at that time was an 11pt. that weighed 140 lbs. While I was checking out to leave a man was weighing in an 8pt that weighed 120 lbs. Anyone else think that is kind of small bodied for that area. I saw the 8pt and would have been proud to shoot it but it looked sick, little body and 8pts I could have put one hand around. Any opinions.
The Buck!
Fellas I saw there is a cold front moving in Friday. Would it be better to hunt the Fri. afternoon or the Sat. morning, b/c I'm on call this weekend and will be able to make only one hunt.I just wanted to know yall opinions are if it doesn't really matter.
The Buck!
I know alot of yall use the thermocell. But I'm trying to figure out how to use it in my climber. I know it has to be flat on its back but I don't want to put it on my foot platform or my lap. How do yall guys rig something up that will keep it out of your way while bow hunting? Thanks.
JMD
I'm looking for a sight for my bow. I don't know who makes it are where to get it. I saw it on a bow at Lafayette Shooters that a guy had. I saw his pin from almost across the store. It has a round clear housing, and the pin was a lime green. It was a single pin sight. Any info will help.
Thanks,
JMD
Does this guy have a guiding service? If so how much does he charge. I only shoot ten point or better and if he is as good at scouting and finding deer like they say then I know HE can find me one. That is SWEET! By the way my arrows aren't too short. LOL! Nice job fella!
Peace!
Me and a buddy went Sat. and Sun. afternoon. Saturday I had two does come out at about fifty yards and circled all the way around me just out of my comfort zone. Sunday moved closer to try and get them and they were a no show. Drew back on a bobcat about 15 yards and held for twenty seconds or so, but it was right at prime time yesterday and didn't want to mess up my hunt.
I bet the sausage was flying that night.
Did it.
Look at the picture by his left foot. I think that is the exit hole. Arrowslinger just trying to rile y'all up. Nice shot dude.
Buck!
Sweet story, and awesome kill!!!
I have a single pin cosmic sight made by impact archery. That little green dot is BRIGHT. Even in low light.
BUCK!!!
Horns and feathers just posted last month asking information about hunting Sherburne b/c he was new to it. Now he already killed 5 bucks. Smells kind of fishy. May just be me but click on view reports and read it for your self.
Anyway all I can say for Sherburne is get off the beaten path.
BUCK!
I'll usually shoot about 10 sessions with 6 arrows when I get home from work 20 & 30 yards. I shoot a single pin so at about 40 yards it becomes a guessing game and I don't like to guess.
Then I will go out right before it gets dark and shoot again about 5 rounds. It helps you adjust when you get in them woods and it becomes crunch time right about dark. My opinion anyway.
BUCK!
I like these. Just my opinion.

Deermeat it's people like you that makes this forum so dam boring to read. You come on here looking for good info on hunting and fishing and then see a post like this. Everytinhg was all good and quiet and then you had to post some BS like this. It's all part of hunting GET OVER IT! If you don't like it don't look at it. The old lady in the nursing home??? Now that's exagerating just a little bit too much. No offense on the kids but I heard that Dr. Seus has a big collection of reading material that's less explicit unless your offended by green eggs and ham.
BUCK!!
Any size limit on the bass.
BUCK!
Anything?
Gerald,
Is that good or bad? I've never fished there before so I don't know. If it keeps falling should it be good by Mardi Gras?
Buck
ANYTHING??
Come on Tony you left us hanging without a story. Great deer!
Buck
You better hold on tight! It will knock em dead no doubt.
Buck
Makes you wonder how many deer are watching you that you don't even know is there. I always wonder that.
Buck!
That guy in the picture with the deer works at Bayouland Bowhunter in Duson. Said the stuff works do you know how much it is.
Buck!
Cold front's not gonna matter this weekend. They will have enough human fronts coming through that will keep the deer moving pretty good. Wear alot of orange.
